Freelancing
This is how much money I have made after 4 months on Fiverr
Fiverr isn’t dead
Many people say that Fiverr has too much competition, so I went on to see if it was true.
Because I mainly write about finance on Medium, I thought it is best if I uploaded finance-related gigs. These are the gigs I uploaded.
The gigs I uploaded:
I will create a diversified long term stock portfolio
I will teach you about the stock market
I will translate from English to French
I will do a fundamental analysis of a stock
Most of them got almost no impressions except one. Almost all of my impressions and all of my revenue came from “I will teach you about the stock market”
The Stats

These are the impressions from the stock market course. In total it got 3.1K impressions. In the last month, it received 1.2K impressions. The gig gained a total of 35 clicks which resulted in 4 orders.
Why this gig performed so well was due to a couple of reasons I think. It was a wanted service, and the title and prime image were well designed. Let’s get down to how much money I made.
How Much I made
After being active on Fiverr for 4 months, I made a grand total of $72,45.

I am quite satisfied with these earnings. This is some nice passive income since I just need to upload the course, and be done.
Tips
There was a famous saying that kept resounding in my head:
If you surround yourself with 4 millionaires, you’re bound to be the 5th
So I looked up entrepreneurship discord servers. The first, and best one I found was r/startup. They have a community of over 20K entrepreneurs. In their discord server, they have a “self-promotion” section.
On this page, you can promote your services or businesses. I decided to promote my Fiverr gigs and Medium profile. My Fiverr gigs had a remarkable increase in impressions.
I would definitely recommend trying this out. I have some other tips listed below too.
Not getting impressions
Impressions are the number of times your gig appeared on Fiverr’s homepage or subcategory page. This is what you need to do if you are not getting any impressions.
- Check if your gig is searchable.
- Optimize the tags.
- Check if it’s in the right category, when Fiverr adjusted the category of my gigs, my impressions grew substantially.
- If you are still not getting any impressions, nobody might be looking for your service.
Not getting clicks
These are some tips if you are getting impressions but no clicks:
- Fiverr allows you to put up to 3 images per gig. Make use of them!
- Try making your prime image stand out. You can do this by inserting a subtitle or keywords that describe your gig into a Google Slides template. I use Slidesgo for this.
- Try to adjust your title, your title might not be accurate or descriptive enough.
Not converting into sales
These are some tips if you are getting clicks but no one is buying your service.
- The price might be too high for what you are offering. You might think it’s reasonable but the buyer doesn’t see the potential value it can offer him.
- Try to make your description as long as possible. My description contained 866 characters and clearly showed what the buyer would get if the course was bought. Include why the buyer would want to buy your service.
- Maximize the FAQ section. Answer every potential question the buyer might have. Any doubt of the customer could lead the sales not to go through.
- And finally, include a video. Although many people don’t want to show their faces, it does make the buyer feel like there is a real person behind the screen. Having a video increases your sales conversion tremendously.
