So is it still worth becoming a Data Analyst in 2023 ? — putting everything else aside, to answer this from a purely financial standpoint — I scraped 1000 Salaries reported by real Data Analysts working in the United States in 2023.
The Salary Numbers don’t lie!
The Median Salary reported for a “Data Analyst” position in 2023 is $100K.
Comparing this to the Overall Median Salary in 2023 as reported by the US Department of Labor which is at $57,200, Data Analysts earn almost twice as much.

The $100K number might seem high at first glance but note that the Salaries include Data Analysts of various levels of experience (from 0 to more than 15 years) and the salaries vary wildly depending on the location and company.
If we only look at Salaries for Data Analyst positions that have 0–2 years of experience — the Median Salary drops to $80K.
