How Many Claps You Should Expect As A Beginner Writer On Medium

Each clap has value to the writers

I started writing on Medium in April 2020. When I first published my post, there were no views and claps. I know it’s a kind of demotivating thing.

However, it’s hard to get views and claps in the very first month on Medium. I know some great writers can make 3 figure income on Medium.

Everyone isn’t that lucky. Medium is really competitive platform to achieve success. So not everyone can get more views and claps on Medium. Only 7% of writers can make $100 in a month. Some writers make more than $3000 per month. You really need to be competitive if you want real money.

Each piece needs to be outstanding. Medium has three kinds of readers who clap differently, some readers only give one clap, some give as many as they want and the last one gives 50 claps.

Everyone likes to get more claps. However, it’s completely the reader's choice how many claps he or she wants to give.

So, if you just have started your Medium writing journey how many claps you should expect on your articles?

This is the question that might be in the mind of all beginner writers. When I started it was hard to get 5 fans on my every post.

Each clap is your winning. You always have a chance to increase the number of claps later. Therefore, focus on writing. I know it’s hard to keep yourself away from Medium stats.

I know after staying on this platform for 14 to 15 months, I am still addicted to Medium stats and it’s affecting my mental health. I am also trying to keep myself away from it.

Ones, you start writing your claps will gradually increase. The more you write, the more you get. As a beginner, you need to expect more writing pieces, so it will get you more claps.

To show your visibility on Medium, you have to first write some of the pieces.

If you just started trying to get 500 claps but expect 100 because you just have started.

Once, you started getting 100 claps on every article it will help you get more.

So, have a faith in yourself and write like a writer. Each clap has a great value to the writer. I know as a beginner writer I never published my work before publishing it on Medium.

When I received the first few claps on my work, it felt great. I still remember that feeling. It made me feel satisfied. I always wanted to write, but I thought I am not that great a writer.

Those claps made me confident. After that, I started writing poetry on Medium, and in June Medium announced me a top writer in poetry tag.

In nutshell, if you really want to do something from your heart, you will able to do it. Just go for it.

Write from your heart and then your readers will give you claps from their heart.

This story is based on my personal experience and point of view. No offense, please.

I am wishing you all the best in your life.
