How Long Until AI ‘Really Makes its Move’

Sun Tzu - Know Your Enemy

Just so we’re clear, it’s all ‘ChatGPT this, ChatGPT that’ at the moment, ChatGP-Who? Some of you, I’m guessing the majority, will have heard of a tech bot out there named Google Bard, maybe?

Sun Tzu Told us: Know Your Enemy

Okay the quote is 50/50 on both knowing your enemy and knowing yourself, but for right now, it’s the enemy we’re focusing on, and for good reason: our Lord and master of the last two decades, the dude we ask for the most obscurest of answers, Google, is sitting back and gathering data (scuse the pun) while drones like ChatGPT and his buddies do the legwork.

Enough already, you get the picture

The takeaway of this short piece is: if you’re worried about AI now… before Google has played its hand, then you might as well retire because, well, Google FFS!

The answer to the question in the title

Who knows? For what it’s worth, I’m saying 18 months - two years at the absolute maximum. Why? It’s the nature of things. How long does your average mobile phone last? 3–4 years if we squeeze them. ChatGPT is mainly a household name, which has taken a year or two, and you think the big dog’s just been sat on his hands?

Good luck 🍀 to every human out there: bloggers, authors, freelancers and anyone who uses words for a living.

I’m human, happy writing.
