How did 10 thousand steps get started?

When the Japanese launched a Pedometer in 1965, they named it the 10 thousand steps or “let’s walk 10K steps a day”.

Since then, 10,000 steps have become the default goal for a fitness tracker and smartphone apps.

Having to walk 10K steps daily does not mean that it is a daily requirement for us to keep fit.

There is no scientific study about this specific requirement.

It is not how many steps you make each day, it should focus and matters about your daily activity to good health.

However, according to the expert, if you want to improve your cardiovascular disease problem and you want to keep healthy, you should be walking 10K steps or more per day.

As an example, I have high blood pressure. The main reason why I exercise daily and aim for 10K steps.

Aside from exercising daily, I am totally very careful about what I eat unless on certain occasions that I have no access to healthier food options.

It is recommended by a doctor that I should take medication for stabilizing my blood pressure to normal. I am hesitant as I have been reading about medication that can harm other parts of the organ when used for a long period of time. I knew I was wrong.

My point is, exercising on a regular basis should give me overall good health. Heavy perspiration relaxes me and I am more of a happy person when I have my daily routine.

I read that it is not necessary to aim for these 10K steps a day because our body is different. Know yourself. Know your lifestyle.

4,400 steps a day would also just be fine.

Eat Less, moving more should be the way of life. But it is the other way round for many of us.

Walking is an easy way to achieve a 10K steps goal. Put on that favorite music of yours, wake up early and go for a run or walk. At the end of the day, it is you, it is you that changes your health for the better.

In my experience, since the day I goal to exercise daily, I have maintained and achieve my body weight and healthy eating habits.

Tips:

I avoid eating rice, bread, or noodles at night. I choose more protein and easily digest vegetables into my salad.

  • 4 Hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 medium-size avocado
  • 1 pack 2 grams of smoked salmon
  • Some green salad available (baby spinach)
  • Vinegarette salad dressing
