How I Went from 15 Views and 7 Reads in a Month to 50 Views and 40 Reads in just One Day

I only did these four steps to make the changes I was aiming for on Medium.

I have to admit.

No matter how much I tried, I’m the type of member who couldn’t post every day on Medium, even if I write every day.

So, when I’m not getting enough views and reads, I ask myself, “Is it because I wasn’t posting enough?” Maybe. But since I couldn’t keep up with posting as much as other writers, I need to figure out something else. What other solutions can I immediately implement that could get me more views and, who knows, even more reads?

I joined Medium in November 2023 but only started writing in December. Here are my stats for that month.

Here’s how I was doing before I made the changes.

To earn on Medium as a writer, I need to start getting actual readers first because that is my goal.

Luckily, by making these three simple changes, which I’m about to tell you, my views bumped up to 2x, and my reads increased to 4x, all in just one day.

Here are the steps I did.

1. Ticking Members-only before publishing

It started with this question.

What if I did change some articles to Member-only?

I didn’t know whether it would make a difference because I had never done that before. But since I wasn’t making any progress, no matter how beneficial my content was (for me), I tried it.

2. Posting on Instagram Story

None of my friends and family members knew that I started to write. As much as possible, I wanted to get a more organic audience.

Why Instagram?

I know that Facebook is saturated with many friends and family members. Since my first content is about my religious upbringing, I know that people back home will get hurt as much as I did when they read about it.

So, I picked the less saturated platform, my Instagram account.

3. Creating a LinkTree profile

I’m finally implementing the steps I have been taking for my clients as a digital marketer for a decade.

I created a Linktree profile and then posted my link on IG and Twitter.

4. Responding to all the Comments

I did that as soon as I learned that I should connect more to other Medium members by adding comments to the posts I liked. But, responding to all the comments, I haven’t done that yet. And starting this day of my experiment, I did it.

Results

I was doing errands when I decided to check my Medium account and saw this.

I was surprised!

“Wasn’t expecting that!” I got excited. Now I know what I’m missing!

By doing the four things I mentioned above, I gained more Views and Reads in just one day.
