How I Rest Well During The Flu
What I Did To Get Better With No Shortcuts

We all know that influenza viruses cause the flu as a respiratory illness: a contagious one that infects the throat, nose, and even the lungs. The flu could last weeks, but the symptoms could be as good as gone in a few days or less. Yes, you read that correctly: a few days or less.
And for the past couple of days, I, of course, was struck with one. However, I am still in recovery since I am getting better as the days go by. But I will share my four tips on resting well during the flu or, at least, how I managed to do so.
Follow the Doctor’s Instructions
Let me confess to you one thing first, my dearly avid readers. It has been a long time since I last visited my family doctor or any certified doctors from elsewhere, like Medstat.
But I take to heart the instructions I received when I used to visit the hospital for the flu due to the doctors’ diagnosis. However, the given instructions from the doctor within all the years prior are a blessing to my advantage: knowledge.
And the knowledge of that gift we know as listening and obeying them leads us to the last three tips in this guide.
Take Prescribed Meds Accordingly
If you visit the doctor frequently, follow your doctor’s instructions in accordance, including taking your prescribed medications as specified. And if you are more like me, who rarely visits your doctor or any doctor, don’t worry so much.
Off-the-counter (OTC) medications like Ibuprofen [Advil, Midol, or Motrin] are the kind of friends to trust who can get near you or inside you without getting infected. So be sure to follow all instructions before taking any of them since reading and researching are crucial and beneficial.

Consume Liquids For Hydration
Staying hydrated is a factor of good health, but so is eating hot soup and drinking warm-hot water. It is very effective for detoxifying our physical bodies while retaining fluids and sodium.
Consuming foods in liquid form [Chicken Noodle Soup] and drinks [Orange Juice with Lemon or Hot Water] is essential for our digestive system. It is also beneficial for our bodies to flush out what they need to while we avoid inevitable dehydration from the flu.
Ingesting liquid meals with our limited energy is much easier than chewing; do you agree?
Anyway, moving on to the very last tip:
Do Nothing, Just Sleep
I know how difficult this may sound for many of us, but it means what it says exactly. However, I wanted to say, “Do Nothing and Get Plenty of Rest.” But I would have to clarify what rest means in healing from the flu.
Resting means having freedom from doing any laborious work; rest also means lying down to get some sleep to rejuvenate your body. I slept most of the day due to a headache, fever, and painful coughing, and it was manageable as the symptoms got heavier as the days went by.
And sleeping all day was the only option I had energy for, despite it being one of the most effective ways to heal from the symptoms quicker. But fighting to stay awake reading, writing, engaging with others on Medium, or any laborious work must be on hold [gradually] until next time.

With the information provided, I hope these tips work for you as they did for me through the past years, even up until now. Popping a pill of Advil or two before enjoying your time in Dreamworld is simple as long as you follow the instructions.
However, consuming liquids and getting plenty of rest is just as crucial. It may help save you time, money, and what little energy you might have from driving out and visiting your doctor. So, stay in good health as much as you possibly can.
Thank you for your valuable time and reading until the end.
