How I Reconnect to My Mind, Body, and Spirit Through Dancing in Nature
I got angry in reaction to an unpleasant experience one morning last week. Somehow, after dancing daily for these few weeks, my first instinct was to go dance in the park just across the road where I was.
I chose my favorite spot in the park where I always see this beautiful tree who I lovingly refer to as Amelia. She looked like a magnificent dancer with her wide and sturdy trunk and her branches spread out so beautifully. She beckoned me to dance with her. I set up my trusty tripod and set my phone to record these dancing memories I was about to create with Amelia.
Without any music, I allowed my feelings to interact with Amelia’s welcoming aura. Using just my body as an instrument, I danced intuitively to this tree’s compassionate and grounding presence. Dancing in her presence made me feel and trust in my own beauty. It was a deeply magical and healing experience for me.
My anger vanished and my chest radiated with love and joy.
Dance = Water = Emotions
I shared this dance video in my favorite private Facebook group — Personal Conversations With The Earth, facilitated by Lisa Murray and Eliza Atsma. It’s a magical group of 2.8K members all over the world who are wonderfully intuitive and sensitive tree-lovers.
There were so many beautiful appreciative comments from fellow members of the group that truly warm my heart. In particular, I love Billy’s intuitive messages on my dance videos. With his permission given, here are some of the messages he shared about this video in the Facebook group:
“I hope you do the words fluid grace keep coming into my head and there’s one part where you become water ..strangely enough..Mother earth has been sending messages recently of how water works for her as an agent of cleansing and healing and of how water is light and keeps adding new frequencies and energies to be ideal for the particular task at the particular time …obviously very important to her and there you are being water cleansing away negative energy and just flowing with all the good stuff. You are getting closer to the expression of Bingz Huang at her centre. I look forward happily to see the next step. I salute you your bravery and your progress…the world needs you at your best just now and you are giving it xxx” ~ Billy
His message came as a very reassuring validation to me. I’m reminded of how I’ve been told by several healers that I am very strong in the element of Water, which represents the realm of emotions. Even my Chinese name, 冰洁, has a very strong Water element. The first character of my Chinese name literally means ‘Ice’, which also reflects how cold and stubborn I can sometimes be. But if I allow myself to flow with dance both in my body and mind, there is a rapid release and integration of emotional energies in me, that can radiate as healing energies for others, such as through this dance.
Of course, not everyone appreciates my intuitive dance in nature, but I’m glad that I’ve found some sensitive people who do notice and feel the healing effects of it.
Life is filled with mysteries that my conscious mind can’t fully comprehend, but that’s okay. I’m grateful to be surrounded by other Sensitives who feel the same way too. Together, we can mutually support one another and feel good about honoring our sensitivity.
