FREELANCING FOR BEGINNERS
How I Promote My Fiverr Gigs
You need a live portfolio to bring sales
One Fiverr gig brings me a lot of organic traffic due to low competition. But other gigs need marketing from my side.
I know how important it has become for everyone to have a good solid income portfolio. We are always looking for different ways to make money online. While experimenting with these side hustles, some work for us while others don’t. It’s not about luck but all about where you put your mind and energy into.
One of the most common side hustles is Fiverr. There are other alternatives as well like Freelancer and Upwork. You can try them alongside Fiverr. But in this article, I’ll stick only to Fiverr.
Traffic Sources for my Fiverr Gigs
- Organic — I have a gig that is still on the top of the Fiverr search engine. And that’s just because few people sell in that category. I have heard many saying that Fiverr is saturated but actually, it’s not. I still have a list of low-competitive gigs. Some I have listed here as examples.
- You drive the traffic — I drive traffic to my tech gigs and that’s using Twitter. Twitter has changed a lot. So if you are using Twitter make sure you buy the blue tick. It will help you to increase the flow even more. It’s less work and more traffic. More traffic means more sales.
Solid steps to bring in traffic for your gigs
- Buy the blue tick — Every platform is doing its best to kill the organic reach of your content. They want us to buy the Blue Tick or their ads. I have no experience with ads but blue tick is a game changer. The blue tick is a mark of professionalism on social media. If you become a member, your audience will take you seriously.
- No self-promotion all the time — I see this on Instagram. People post about their services every now and then. Don’t do that. I tried it and failed. If you are writing blogs or newsletters then- 80% useful content and only 20% self-promotion.
- Choose one platform only — For my tech gigs, I chose Twitter. You choose a gig based on your niche. For example — Health and fitness audiences are more active on Instagram.
- Be active — Every platform that I have used has one thing in common. They want you to be active on their platform every single day. Want to increase Instagram followers? Be active on Instagram every single day. Want to have more members on your LinkedIn profile? Be active there every single day. Being active means doing engagements, creating content for your accounts, and so on.
- Try to be professional — Try to talk about the niche you are in. Stay away from sharing too many personal stories. If there is something that everyone could learn from, then do share it on your account. Other than that don’t share your personal life on social media. You may get many followers, and many engagements but no one is going to buy services from you.
Conclusion
If you want to sell your Fiverr gigs, then the first thing you need to do is to build an audience and a good reputation on any one platform. You don’t need to stretch yourself too much.
Choose one platform. Choose a gig of your choice. Start marketing.
The more you market, the more sales you’ll get.
