How I Navigated the Spice of Love Today

On the eve of Christmas Eve, the supermarkets are chaos yet my girlfriend has a craving that has me questioning the meaning of love.

I’ve never really understood love.

Such an abstract concept.

I just don’t “get it”

Or perhaps I should say, I’ve never really understood it. However, maybe I’m starting to understand love.

This morning, I rolled over to be greeted by pungent breath, groggy eyes and the sweetest words.

“Can you go buy me a pot noodle please?”

What a pleasant good morning. I knew why she was asking though. She’d been craving one yesterday and was disappointed to find there wasn’t any in the house.

I also knew she’d be wanting to eat a Bombay Badboy whilst watching the Leeds United vs Ipswich football game later.

She’s a right hooligan and a steamy pot of spicy noodles calms her down.

Despite actually feeling rather horny, I agreed to brave the local supermarket on the eve of Christmas Eve.

I dodged around folk with trolleys full of last minute Christmas dinner food shopping, wrapping paper and crackers in my pursuit of peace, happiness and affection from my beloved hooligan.

Seeing the shelves discounted, I grabbed a few and queued behind the trolleys of last minute shoppers.

As I shuffled slowly forward in the queue, I pondered the meaning of Love.

Is this an act of love?

I remembered once being told about different “love languages” and made a mental note to look into this.

Perhaps this “love” thing isn’t all that complicated after all?
