How I make All my Articles Get Over 10,000 Views!
The art of selling as a content writer that many don’t do
Content writing is a tough job. Writers spent hours just writing an article before publishing it. And when the content isn’t pushed out to enough audience or has low viewership. Man, that is disappointing.
I get it! Every writer wants to write and be paid an equal amount for the number of hours worked. But that’s not always the case. That’s why many content writers fail to last more than a year.
Advise to Get 10,000 Views on 1 Article
Getting 100 views per article is easy, the problem is getting it over the 10,000 view mark. So here’s what I learned over the years in writing that writers need to know to get to 10,000 views!
No One Cares Anyway
Yes, this is true!
Who is going to care about a recent content writer who barely posts and doesn't even have 10 articles to read? You see, many people want VALUE, and if you are not able to provide that. Generally, no one is going to follow you let alone read your article.
Followers are hard to get but once you do get it, chances are that they will be with you in the long run. And the attention given to you to read your articles will pay good dividends over time.
So to get 10,000 views, my first step is always to provide value.
Content Writing is Not All About Writing
Yeah, content is important! But what sells articles is not the content that can be found inside. Rather, it is the packaging.
8 out of 10 people will view your article but only 2 out of 8 will bother to click it. In order for readers to really want to read your article, it has to be something worth clicking for!
You see, there will definitely be other writers out there writing the same exact type of content you are writing for. The only way you can do truly stand out from your crowd is to spend the time packaging your article.
I spent roughly 1 hour writing a 500-word article, 10~15minute of that time goes into packaging my content. Which is creating the perfect meta tag, using the right tags, and a title that sums up the expectation of what the reader is going to get for reading my article.
Not everyone reads on Medium
While Medium is growing exponentially over the years, not all readers come to Medium to read. To get more readership from your account, you need to diversify.
The danger of relying on Medium is the constant need to work with their algorithm and the chances of your article reaching out to a larger audience are heavily dependent on how they feel about your article.
I use other writing platforms such as Substack, Quora, and my own website(www.hustleventuresg.com) to push out more content. Apart from that, having multiple social media channels as well does help to elevate my content to reach out to a larger audience.
