How I Made Money My First Day Reselling

Want more money? Flip these brands!

I made money on my very first day of reselling. How? Well, I didn’t know it, but I’d picked up one of the hottest brands on the market. A North Face jacket. I found it, bought it for a dollar, listed it that same day, and it sold a few hours later.

So yes, starting day one, you can make money from this business. Besides initial investment money, the most important thing you’ll need is the knowledge of what to buy.

If you have what they seek, they will buy! And you can make a profit that very same day.

I’ll write another article about what flips for quick cash but lower profits. That will be a helpful article for those beginning this journey with little investment money and the desire/need for a speedier return on income. But for now, this article will satisfy the “pretty damn decent cash flip” category.

A pretty damn decent cash flip in my world sells for $50 or above (considering the average retail price at a thrift is $12, that’s a good profit). Decent cash flips also might sit for over a month because the buyer is investing a lot of cash into the item, or the item is rare and will take that special someone to search for their desire on a platform like Poshmark or eBay.

The 2023 reselling game is changing, and you need higher-selling items. Why? Because stagnant listings compete with “live selling” (follow me if you want to hear about how my first live auction goes). And items that are selling live sell for far less. But even the new element of live selling cannot compete with a good old regular listing on an established site with no wait time for purchase.

So remember, we’re looking for unique, rare, stylish items that can sell for $50 or above. The bigger the profit, the better!

Here are three items to look out for that sold for pretty damn decent profits in the last few months:

🚨Dagne Dover, sold $80

  • Neoprene baby bag. This item sold fast! The color, style, and item use all played a role in this quick flip. It was not new or in perfect condition.

🚨Veronica Beard Cary Long Wrap Dress, sold for $133

  • Veronica Beard sells for a good amount of money on the resell marketplace. But specific styles sell for more. The blue version of this dress is so popular it’s sold out everywhere, and the red can only be found in limited sizes. These factors made this a quick flip (sold in less than a week). This dress is a BOLO, and I’m fortunate to have found it.

🚨Everlane Day Heel, Sold $60

  • Everlane was the absolute BOLOist of BOLO brands two years ago. Nowadays, you must be very selective about the Everlane pieces you purchase for flipping. But there is one forever classic that still sells every time-The Day Heel. Even though this item doesn’t sell on the same day like it did in 2020, it will flip within a month for the right price.

🚨 Clove Nurse Clara Shoes, sold $63

  • Clove sells sneakers, but the Nurse Clara’s by Clove are winners! Necessary clothing or shoes are great to pick up because people need nursing gear, and mothers need baby bags…and if the brand and quality are right, they will sell. But these didn’t sell as fast as I thought they would! It took about two months. Remember, patience is a virtue.

🚨 Cuyana Large Tote, sold $80

  • Cuyana leather bags are of great quality and very popular right now. It took about a month for this to sell. It might have sold for more, but I didn’t want to wait!

So that’s it. A few items can give great profit margins and will sell in a decent amount of time. You just need to keep your eyes open for them!

  • Soon I’ll post more tips for BOLO brands, reseller tips, and my journey into live selling (Is it worth it? Can it work for the average person? Do you have to sell clothing?).
  • I’ll also post more tips and tricks for youtube, how to gain followers, how to get monetized etc.
  • I’ll also post health tips about happiness, the law of attraction, spiritual well-being, finding your life purpose, etc.
