Honestly, I don’t have an exact formula for this. I had been writing on Medium for about 9 months before this and did not get much success. However, this one viral article changed everything for me.

I can give you a couple of things that worked for me. You can apply them in your writing and see the change:

Publish as much as you can

This is the most important tip I can give you. Start publishing at least one post a day. This will increase your chances to go viral.

That’s how I got my viral article after publishing more than 60 stories.

Write about something you care about

I love mathematics. Ever since I was a kid, I loved solving problems. I read a book on mathematics and I liked it so much that I wanted to share it with everyone. So I wrote an article about that.

When you write on a topic you care about, the words come from your heart, and people like honest articles.

Tell your story

Every post you write, you should talk about your story. Readers love authenticity in posts. So if you tell personal stories, they are more likely to believe it.

The first couple of paragraphs should relate to why you care about the topic you are writing about. That’s when you tell your story.

Your readers should learn something from your post

When I started writing on Medium, I was writing about the things I did in my life but I was not conveying the right messages. That’s why I failed poorly.

When I started conveying messages clearly, I saw an increase in my views.
