How I Made $200+ Writing Software Reviews (No Surveys Required)
Getting paid to write software reviews almost seems too good to be true — but it is possible!

Many sites promise they will pay you to write reviews, yet they have high cash-out levels that most people never even reach.
You’ve probably seen many people say the best way to make money online is by doing online surveys on Survey Junkie or joining Swagbucks. But in reality, it is hard to make a lot of money from online surveys — especially when there aren’t many available.
Usually, the only people who make money with online surveys are the ones who refer you with their affiliate code or link.
Luckily there is a better way.
The answer is Capterra.
Note: I am not receiving any affiliate offer or financial incentive from Capterra. I just genuinely want to help people make money online and avoid scams.
Capterra is the leading business software review site in the world. It helps buyers find suitable software for their business needs.
The number one way it does this is with reviews. Capterra is a highly trusted review site where users write honest software reviews.
Capterra offers paid incentives for users to write reviews to attract genuine reviews.
Your reviews must meet their guidelines to be published. Before publication, the Capterra Team personally verifies and approves every review.
To be successful on Capterra, it is important to only write reviews for software you have personally used.
How It Works
You write honest reviews for the software you use.
After they have been approved, you will receive $5+ for each published review.
You can instantly redeem this amount for gift cards, with only a $5 minimum amount required.
My Experience With Capterra
I first discovered Capterra earlier this year after signing up for Surfer SEO.
I received a special offer from Surfer to get an extra monthly credit for publishing a Capterra review.
Soon afterward, my review was published on Capterra, and I received an email offering me $5 per review for my first 10 reviews.
Sounded too good to be true, right?
Well, I wrote a few reviews to see, and I received a reward for each one!
Since then, I have been paid $195 in total from Capterra just for writing reviews of the software I use.
I have redeemed this for a mixture of Amazon Gift Cards and Prepaid Mastercards.
Capterra also often regularly sends special offers to get paid to write more reviews too, such as:
I have also received other offers to write up to 10 reviews per month for $5 per review.
After leaving a review, Capterra will often offer you an additional $10 or $20 to leave another review for similar software you have used.
How Long It Takes To Approve Reviews
As Capterra verifies each review manually, it can take up to 3 weeks for a review to be processed. However, in my experience, they have always been approved within 3 days.
After your review is published, you will receive an email advising you to redeem your gift cards.
How You Get Paid
The great thing about Capterra is that you can cash out your balance starting from just $5.
Important Note: You must redeem the balance within 30 days, or it will no longer be valid.
Capterra offers 4 different Rewards types:
- For US Citizens: Amazon, Starbucks, Target, and Mastercard gift cards
- For Non-US Citizens: Mastercard gift cards only
You can receive a virtual Mastercard or pay a few dollars to have a physical one sent to you.
Important: You must click the email’s special offer link for paid reviews.
You won’t be paid by going directly to the site and leaving a review.
That happened to me once, unfortunately.
When I reached out to support, they advised this was the reason why I wasn’t paid.
Capterra Alternatives
As well as Capterra, I’ve also written reviews for G2, another site where you can earn money writing business software reviews. Unfortunately, G2 only offers Amazon Gift Cards as a reward.
I did get paid $10 (AU$13) to write a review on G2, but I didn’t have the same positive experience as with Capterra.
In my experience, I have found that G2 doesn’t approve my reviews when they offer an incentive.
I wrote a Jasper AI review to get bonus credits on Jasper, and that review was approved.
But, when I was offered an incentive on G2 to write a review for Surfer and Ahrefs, I didn’t receive the Amazon Gift Card.
Instead, I saw the status ‘Review not approved.’
On the other hand, every single one of my Capterra Reviews has been approved.
TrustRadius
I also signed up at TrustRadius. But so far, I haven’t received any paid offers to write reviews.
Take Action — Join Capterra Today
I’ve been paid over $200 to write software reviews, and each one only takes 5–10 minutes.
I’d highly recommend Capterra as it is the one I have been most successful with ($195 from the $205 I’ve earned has been from Capterra).
First, sign up, write your first review (for free) and wait for it to be approved and published.
Then, wait for an email from Capterra offering $5 each for 10 paid reviews (usually within 1–2 days of your first review being published, although it may take longer).
Capterra sends offers frequently, so it may be possible to make up to $50 per month or more if they offer you $10 or $20 to write a review for specific software.
Good luck!
Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.
Are there any other sites that have paid you to write reviews?
