How I Made +$1300 On Medium In My Second Month. What Have I Learned?
Steal my Knowledge

That’s something rarely seen on this platform. The second month on Medium and I’m making +$1300.

To compare Eve Arnold Wrote on Medium for 6 months before she even started getting noticed.
Honestly: I’d never thought I’d be there in two months. I didn’t quite know what to expect when I was starting. The only thing I knew I wanted to get my money back from the membership haha…
Now I have it.
All this writing part-time. I decided to share the knowledge I acquired during these 2 months so you can start and not make the same mistakes I’ve made.
Are you ready to dive in?
Let’s do it.
Starting is not the hardest part
If you are afraid of starting. You are not alone.
I was too. I didn’t know what and how. I was afraid of publishing my first story because thoughts flooded my mind. “If someone I know finds me and laughs at me? Will readers say mean stuff?”
It was hard but I overcame my fear.
But Starting is not the hardest part of it.
The hardest is to stay and write consistently.
Everything will be against you, you are going to get low reads putting an hour of effort in one story, and you will struggle with fake followers and clap jumpers.
That was what looked like my first weeks, but I stayed strong and kept writing. Now I’m making +1300$/month.
Remember: you fail only the moment you quit.
Don’t focus your stats
The beginner mistake is:
Focusing too much on his stats and thinking his missing something because he has no reads. There will be ups and downs it’s normal. That’s a part of our life.
Wrong.
Your story can blow up later. I’ve got stories I published and got 2 reads then my second month they made me +100$.
Also, focusing too much on your stats forces you to compare them with other writers. And that’s the moment you fail.
But I don’t say you don’t have to check them. You should check them to analyze your best stories and understand why are they performing well.
That’s something really important to write what your audience loves.
You’ll never please everyone
Sometimes you will get mean comments and even haters when you grow. Don’t pay attention to them. I know it’s hard sometimes you want to answer them and tell them to s*ut the f*ck up.
Don’t do that. You are not as low as they are. You are better.
Just think a minute. Why would they pay attention to you, hate you?
The answer is simple. You are doing better than they do.
So if you have haters, you are on the right path. You’ll never please everyone but that’s not your goal — please the majority.
