How I Learned To Never Lose Hope
It is the anchor of my soul
Hope is that melodious voice That sings in the dark, When the world seems too cruel And the future, too stark.
Hope is a warm blanket That wraps you in love, When you’re feeling lost and alone And you don’t know where to turn above.
Hope is a gentle friend That walks with you through the night, When you’re scared and confused And you don’t know which way is right.
Hope is a guiding light That shines through the storm, When you’re feeling down and out And you don’t know if you can go on.
Hope is a precious gift That we should all treasure For it is the one thing That helps us through life’s pressure.
Never give up hope, No matter how dark things may seem, It is that light at the end of the tunnel, The one thing that helps us dream.
Hope is perhaps the most important emotion human beings live on. Not for nothing has it been said that “Hope Springs Eternal”. And it should. Had it not been for hope, I can’t even imagine how my mom and I would have survived decades of being suppressed by our family.
It was hope and belief that finally gave us the strength to break free from that situation. It would have been so easy for Mom to give up and resign herself to her “fate”. But that is not what she did. She believed life could be better and took action.
Yet, while hope is good, Hope + Action is what makes the difference.
We all hope for a better tomorrow, a healthier and happier life, and of course, a slimmer body! Students hope for excellent results, and adults hope for financial security and health.
But nothing comes without taking action. Hope is basically the inspiration to focus on what we want and then, take the steps to get it.
Even in seemingly impossible situations, hope gives people the strength to endure and emerge victorious. Where there is life, there will always be hope.
I remember there used to be a stone block in our backyard that had a little square cut in the middle. Someone filled that space with soil. People laughed when they passed by, assuming nothing could grow there. Then somehow nature took her course and a little plant sprouted — and flourished, flowered.

Hope is like that, an anchor for the soul.
Learn from yesterday Live for today Hope for tomorrow — Albert Einstein
When my mom was diagnosed with lung fibrosis in 1997, the doctors declared that she would probably live for another six months, at most. I remember how she laughed and told them, “Ha! I hope to be around for at least another ten years and enjoy my grandson before I go”. She lived for twelve.
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.
I have learned that when I believe that I can accomplish something, my efforts are geared toward that outcome. Hope motivates me to work hard with a positive attitude.
When I feel low, I look at the list of accomplishments I achieved against all odds and I know I can do it, again!
