How I Increase Organic Traffic to My Website — 3 Proven Strategies
Tips and tricks from an SEO expert.

As an SEO expert, I frequently get questions on how to boost organic search traffic.
That’s because increasing traffic has always been a challenge for site owners. However, many have reported a significant increase in traffic volatility lately.
Nowadays, it takes more time and effort to reach top-ranking positions, while Google’s ever-changing algorithms make it impossible to stay on top.
I get it, too.
I’ve been growing my own website for 3 years and experienced all ups and downs. Nevertheless, my website is slowly but steadily growing without significant traffic losses.

Here are a few strategies I implement to increase my website’s organic traffic.
1. Focus on keywords with search potential
I receive several emails weekly from small website owners with the following question: “I’ve been consistently posting new content on my website. Why isn’t it growing?”
Well, posting random content has nothing to do with organic traffic growth.
You might observe a traffic spike right after publishing new content. However, that’s a so-called spike of hope.
Your content will never become searchable if you don’t target search phrases your audience types into search bars.
In fact, Ahrefs’ search traffic study revealed a shocking insight that 96.55% of all content on Google gets NO traffic.

You, me, and everyone else consume less than 4% of all organic content on the Internet.
If you want to create content that ranks high on Google, you must know how to do keyword research and on-page optimization. I’ve been using these strategies for years to grow my website. 66,7% of all my website pages generate organic traffic, with 2 pages accountable for 67.1% of all traffic.

2. Boost CTR to boost organic performance
Click-through rate (CTR) is the ratio of clicks your website receives to the number of times it appears in search engine results pages (SERPs) for a particular keyword.
- Let’s say your website ranks number 3 for the keyword “best pizza places in NYC,” which gets 100 monthly searches.
- Out of those 100 searches, 15 people will click on your result.
- Your organic CTR for “best pizza places in NYC” would be 15% in this scenario.
Organic CTR is a valuable SEO metric because it indicates how well your website listing competes with others and attracts the target audience.
Note that CTR isn’t a ranking factor!
However, user interaction is considered one of Google’s ranking factors!
Since CTR is part of online user behavior, experts claim that “pages that get clicked more in CTR may get a SERP boost for that particular keyword.”
Your website’s meta title and description are crucial in determining organic CTR for your web page.
If you create an enticing meta title that hooks users, they’ll likely click on it.
More clicks = higher CTR and potentially higher rankings.
That’s why boosting CTR has become one of my priorities.
I used to do it manually by rewriting meta titles and descriptions for the money-making pages. However, that’s too long and not scalable.
That’s why I automated my CTR optimization tasks with SERP Empire.
In a nutshell, SERP Empire is a service that promises to boost your website’s ranking in search results by increasing its CTR.
Here’s how it works:
- You provide SERP Empire with your website’s URL and the keywords you want to rank for.
- SERP Empire naturally simulates users searching for those keywords on Google and clicking on your website.
- This increase in CTR signals to search engines that your website is relevant and valuable, which can improve your ranking in organic search results.

I discovered this tool through Craig Cambell’s SERP Empire review. He is an SEO expert from Glasgow.
Craig uses SERP Empire to boost his affiliate website pages. In one of his videos, he showed how he boosted page organic rankings from 6th to 1st on Google with SERP Empire.
That’s a decent achievement!

SERP Empire offers its basic plan for free. In my opinion, it’s ideal for content creators and small businesses on a tight budget. You can set up one campaign and try its powerful CTR-boosting tools.
I’m testing SERP Empire to boost the overall website performance and the Videvo review, in particular. I want to improve organic rankings in the Indian market because that’s where most Videvo tool users come from.
My article ranks 10th for the target keyword. However, my goal is to bring it back to the 8th position and rank even higher with the help of SERP Empire.

3. Update old content
Content update is an overlooked SEO strategy that yields significant results if implemented correctly.
You can generate hundreds of organic visits to your website by improving existing content instead of creating new ones.
Based on my experience, it’s cheaper, faster, and more scalable.
Besides, you’ve already put effort into creating that content. So, you deserve some reward!
That’s why I review my content yearly and update money-making pages. It helps keep up with the competition and maintain rankings.
Here’s what happened to one of my website pages after I rewrote 50% of the content and added new keywords.

It’s not a one-time success story.
I’ve used this strategy on my client websites, which has always worked! That’s because people like fresh and valuable content. They don’t want to read outdated stuff.
Positive online user behavior signals aren’t left unnoticed by Google. If your content meets users’ search intent, Google will sooner or later boost your web page’s rankings.
In conclusion
Growing a website is hard, especially nowadays.
Various Google updates and a massive spread of AI-generated content make it challenging to break through the noise and reach your target audience.
If you want to grow a website, you must understand there’s no magic peel to speed up the process.
Proven-to-work strategies are still the ones that have been working for years. I’m referring to discovering keywords with search potential, creating high-quality content, and optimizing it for rankings.
Yes, it still works!
Google will favor expert content with unique insights over shallow content on the web.
You are definitely not late to the party. Besides, many tools, like SERP Empire, have been developed to automate your SEO processes and help you boost your website’s performance in organic search results.
