How I Grossed $200K In 2023 As A One Person Business.

Once I decided on time freedom as my goal, all the over noise melted away. Here is my journey in 2023. And the most commonly asked questions.

Portrait of Jenny Hansen Lane
  1. Business Coaching:
  • How do you approach business coaching, and what areas or industries do you specialize in? I like to help people create income streams from the things they are passionate about. I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until I learn digital marketing that I found the missing piece to the puzzle.
  • Can you share a success story from your coaching experience in 2023? I had been self-publishing on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing for all of 2022. My online entrepreneur friends asked me about it and then demanded I teach them. With my course creation background, I create a live group coaching program to take people through the process. It’s been a huge success, and I will continue to scale it.

2. Digital Course Creation:

  • What inspired you to create digital courses, and what subjects or topics do your courses cover? I make so many mistakes because I take such fast action, so I know that my experience is very valuable. I knew I could create a course that would cut out wasted time when people wanted to learn self-publishing.
  • How do you go about designing and marketing your digital courses to reach your target audience? I used to be really afraid of organic marketing. But I think that was because I didn’t have enough of my own results. When you have your own results, you simply talk about the journey with your audience.

3. Balancing Roles:

  • Managing a business coaching practice, creating digital courses, and being a stay-at-home mom is quite a juggle. How do you balance these different roles effectively? My husband cooks, and I clean. LOL. We focused on the roles that excite us and work as a time. I plan all my work while my kids are at school.
  • Are there specific strategies you’ve found helpful in integrating your work and personal life? We prioritize family dinner at the table. I don’t schedule things when I have the choice to be present with my kids.

4. Marketing Strategies:

  • What marketing strategies have been most successful in promoting your coaching services and digital courses? Word of mouth, organic marketing on YouTube and Facebook.
  • Have you explored any innovative or unique approaches to stand out in the competitive online space? Yes! I’m working on some Facebook Ads and some interviews. I’ll let you know how that goes for 2024.

5. Financial Milestones:

  • Achieving a gross income of $200K is a significant milestone. What key factors contributed to your financial success in 2023? Not giving up and pushing through the fear of rejection. Also, being excited about what I was offering made a huge impact on my sales.
  • How do you set and adjust your pricing strategy for coaching and digital courses? I love creating irresistible offers that require clients to invest their time. This is how I can measure success as they take action. And I love overdelivering in my time and feedback during our time together.

6. Client Engagement:

  • How do you engage with your coaching clients and course participants to ensure a positive and impactful experience? I create accountability check ins between us. I give them my magic wand and they tell me what they need, and if I have the power to create or deliver it, I will.
  • Have you implemented any feedback loops or methods for continuous improvement in your services? YES! A lot of people struggle to know what to publish when they start, so I have a whole beginner setup designed to help them get results faster.

7. Professional Development:

  • As a business coach and course creator, how do you stay updated on industry trends and enhance your skills? I actively publish books alongside my students. Handfuls of updates have happened during this time with artificial intelligence, book upload limits, and so much more. I want to have the best pulse on the market, which in turn creates the best program out there.
  • Are there specific learning resources or communities that have been particularly valuable for your professional development? As a self-development junkie, I will never miss a Funnel Hacking Live Conference. It’s like a sober rave, with therapy and fun. Sounds bizarre, but it’s life-changing.

8. Future Plans:

  • What are your goals and plans for the future of your business in coaching and digital course creation? I knew I would cross $100K in 2023, but I was shocked to run the numbers as I climbed to new sales. In 2024, my goal is massive, to scale to seven figures.
  • Are there new ventures or areas you are considering exploring in the coming years? Nope. I’m gonna 10X what I’m doing now.
