How I Grew to 13,000 Newsbreak Followers

I see a lot of Newsbreak writers talk about growing their following. I’ll tell you how I effortlessly grew to 13,000 followers on Newsbreak in about a year.

I did no real fan-building work and you could replicate my results pretty easily I think.

Here’s what I did…

Before we dig in, here’s the proof…

I’ll keep this short.

I joined Newsbreak in November 2020. The creator program there had just taken off and I was one of the lucky ones to join early on.

I didn’t care about my following and I still don’t.

My followers were about the same as my peers for a long time.

How I grew my Newsbreak following to 13,000+ followers

There’s a simple trick to this.

Write more.

The more you write, the more exposure your work gets and the more your followers grow.

You don’t have to even have a lot of views on your work (well yes and no on this, more on this later), it’s a volume game. At least that’s been my experience.

That’s the first part.

So, I started publishing 30ish articles every month and did that month after month. Then 25 articles every month.

Every month the number of followers I had grew.

My views were roughly about the same on every article. I wrote about one thing, a million different ways (restaurant reviews).

I had a few standout traffic posts that’d get up to 6,000 views which was great.

Once I started learning how to write viral stories, my views exploded.

So now I write about 10 articles a month, if that, and grow my fans every month with no effort.

My articles get up to 10K views each on average, not including the viral ones which go for 50K to 400K+ views each.

The key is in your writing

So writing more can help you produce more volume of work and that can grow your followers.

And then writing more gives you more chances to go viral, which is how you can really get a good uptick in views.

You don’t have to do follow-for-follow trains or ask for followers in groups on Facebook.

And no, I don’t promote my stories.

Not on Twitter, Pinterest, no social media at all, no email list for sharing my articles and I don’t tell family and friends. I just write.

Just write.

That is all.
