145 Followers In Just 14 Days? Here’s How I did it…

I never thought I would be able to achieve this! I have heard it takes months and months for 100 followers.

I have been writing on Medium since the 19th of September and this is my first article:

I earned over $10 within my first week:

I got over 100 organic followers and 4 subscribers within just 14 days:

This will be updated in the morning because, in the past few hours, I have officially crossed 140 followers.

This was the number of my followers, a few days ago:

In my recent article, I shared that my goal is to reach 1k views by the end of October and these are my stats right now:

Crazy, right? At least for me, it is crazy!

I already reached my goal, 30 days earlier.

New goal:

I wish to reach 500 followers by the end of December. Let’s see if it happens. I hope it does!

I am happy with the progress and we should cherish small accomplishments in life because gratitude is the biggest reason for happiness and success.

My two major goals to share this article are:

  • To inspire the new writers on this platform who think that gaining organic traction and making money on Medium is a lie. Because it is not a lie.
  • To help the new writers so they can learn something from my writing experience so far and the strategies I use. Because I have been working as an online writer for a long time.

Honestly, something that keeps me going and I keep writing on this platform is most of the time because of other writers who share their inspirational stories.

Therefore, even after achieving tiny success, I prefer to share it.

There are days when I feel like it isn’t working and makes me want to quit writing on Medium. When I expect more views and reads than I get.

Recently I wrote this piece and it took me a long time to brainstorm:

It got super less reads than I expected.

But that’s okay! Not every article is going to get more responses.

Sometimes, some articles with a personal touch like this one, get really good engagement:

This is the exact thing that keeps me going, thinking positively, growth mindset.

Top points that helped me gain more followers:

  • I write consistently: I write every day or at least every other day. Look! I know it is hard. As I just explained sometimes I feel like it isn’t working. But you have to keep going if you want it to work.
  • I read blogging inspirational stories:

There are many writers on Medium who share their successful journeys, just like what I am trying to do now (my tiny success). These type of stories just keeps me going.

  • I try my best not to waste a day reading stories and engaging. I know some people think that engagement shouldn’t matter and your content should be good enough. They are right! But I am talking about beginners. I believe as a beginner on this platform, engagement is the key.
  • Coming up with interesting topics: writing about interesting topics in your niche is way more important than you think. It should grab the attention of readers. It doesn’t have to be clickbait but interesting.

I like to write about, online earning, money-making ways, side hustles, success stories sometimes, and growth mindset type of stories.

I am also planning to do earning report articles every month, hopefully, as it inspires new writers (at least writers like me) also it performs well for me.

Do you remember the saying:

“Making money is a mindset game”

In my opinion, it doesn’t necessarily have to be manifestation but one needs a growth mindset.

Believe me, this is as important as working towards your goal. A growth mindset and positive feelings about your work put you in work you do things with a positive attitude and end up achieving your goals.
