How I Exploded My Reads by 417% in February

It all boils down to this

Image created by author

I can’t believe I was able to demolish the number of reads I had in January. I mean, I believe it.

I’m not a crazy person.

But I didn’t expect to absolutely destroy my previous month’s high.

Check this out.

The winning numbers

I feel like I won the lottery.

My views are up over 430%

My reads are up over 417%

I am so grateful for all the reads!

And that’s why I’m writing this article. I want to share with you the most important thing that I did to get them.

Full disclosure. I did a lot of little things differently in February.

But I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about it. Most of what I did didn’t affect my numbers all that much.

Two adjustments made a world of difference.

  1. I practiced writing better headlines
  2. I relaxed my writing style

By practicing headlines (and getting better at them), I was able to stop wasting my stories and attract many more readers.

If you write an engaging headline, a lot more people will want to click on it.

And once you have hungry readers click to read your story, you have to feed them or they’ll leave.

Worse, they’ll go away hungry.

That means they’ll have a bad taste in their mouth regarding you.

You need to grab your reader’s attention in the first 3 seconds. And then you have to write well enough to retain most of your readers.

You don’t have to be a great writer to keep attention.

I’m proof of that.

But you have to get your point across clearly, and you need to do it quickly.

I’m going to continue to practice writing the best headlines I can dream up.

That’s half the battle.

And then I’m going to write the best way I know how.

  • Helpful without being overbearing
  • Laid back without losing the value
  • Humorous without being too goofy

Thank you for reading to the end!
