Fascinated by Zen Gardens, Originally wanted nice Zen garden for meditating upon life, Reduced unreasonable ambition to suit apartment nine floors up.

Built small Zen Garden fitted into apartment, Favorite rocks, Even rock from USA, Meditation rapidly became contemplation of complexity, Ideas in contexts.

Modelling in garden evolved into studies that enhanced contemplation and thoughtful exploration of problems at hand.

Sun’s light from pierced window blinds, Traversed sandscape according to time and changing seasons, No two studies alike, Fresh perspectives, Photos acting as memory cues.

Contemplating connections and place. Study in rock, sand and light by John Rose.

Current study in rock sand and light portrays life’s context, Dolmen top left shows myself in little apartment, Other rocks are memory cues and contexts including teaching health and family, Beam of light suggests relationships.

Use term contemplation as meditation difficult to define, Covers wide range of dissimilar practices in different traditions, In my tradition meditation had mystical overtones, Contemplation thankfully just implies thinking.

Have found that my Zen like garden and studies in rock sand and light help guide me through complex relationships portrayed as idea songlines, Thinking with my hands.

All seems so serious, But really my friend I have a great deal of fun, Sometimes though insights spring up like flowers in snow.

Blessed be.
