How I Consistently Get 1000+ Monthly Visitors To My New Site

Without social media influence

If I launch a website, then what?” — it’s a typical question anyone asks before investing time and resources on website creation.

The majority is afraid they won’t break through the competition and attract users to the website. Their concerns are pretty valid, to be honest.

Over 90% of all web pages get zero visitors from Google, according to Ahrefs. That means most online content flops and never reaches its target audience.

If you want to get noticed, it’s not enough to publish high-quality content and share links online.

Without an established social media presence, you might attract just a few people to your website. But it’s not the outcome you want, right?

As a marketer, I admit growing a website is a challenging and time-consuming process.

If you run a website alone part-time, it might take months to see the first results. However, a well-performing website is a vast business opportunity these days. Therefore, it’s worth giving it a try.

I launched Self Made Millennials in July 2021. It’s a go-to place to master in-demand SEO writing skills, build and grow side hustles and learn from a community of like-minded high achievers.

I built a website as an experiment but quickly grew it to 1000+ monthly active users. Here is proof from Google Analytics:

I follow simple but proven strategies to grow my website. You, too, can acquire consistent traffic to your website if you give them a try.

Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Target keywords with search traffic potential

68% of all online experiences start with search engines, according to Intergrowth.

Over half of online users google answers instead of using social media or anything else. It’s a huge business opportunity!

However, if you create content no one is searching for, your website won’t attract visitors.

Before creating content, you must understand what search phrases your target audience uses on Google.

Those could be questions, like “How to create a profitable blog?” By the way, 8% of search queries are phrased as questions on Google, according to Moz.

Alternatively, people might be looking for blogging courses or coaching services.

Depending on your blogging niche idea, you should know what people search for and how.

I did extensive keyword research to identify low competition keywords with search traffic potential. Now, I create optimized content people want to read.

You can see that the total number of keywords my website ranks for is steadily growing, with the top positions for three keywords.

I won’t show the keyword research process here cause that’s a topic for another article.

However, I have a detailed guide on how to hit Google’s front page with actionable tips and recommended tools. This guide explains how I do keyword research, find untapped keyword opportunities, and create optimized content for my website.

Targeting keywords with search traffic potential help me rank my website on Google. But there are more things to take into account, like search intent.

Take into account search intent

Search intent is the “why” behind users’ search queries.

Simply put, it is the reason why people go to Google.

Let’s say, you plug “restaurants in New York” in search. Google knows you are probably looking for recommendations by analyzing other users’ online behavior. Therefore, you see mainly listicles:

You won’t shoehorn a restaurants’ homepage here, no matter how badly you want it. Google knows it’s not what users want to see there.

Satisfying users’ search intent is Google’s ultimate mission.

So, if you want to drive traffic from organic search, satisfying search intent should be among your content creations goals.

Before writing optimized blog posts for my website, I do this:

  1. Find a keyword with search traffic potential (see the paragraph above).
  2. Analyze what’s ranking on top. The type of content: blog posts, listicles, home pages, or product/service pages? The format: how-to guides, listicles, reviews, video, etc.? You can google your keyword or use Ahrefs SERP checker to analyze the top-ranking content.

Once I’m done researching users’ intent, I start creating better and more in-depth content.

This lengthy post was published on July 10th, 2021, after a careful SERP analysis. Now, it ranks 8th on Google with zero do-follow backlinks. Here is proof:

Use referral channels

A well-established organic presence will help you get passive traffic to your website from search engines.

However, it takes time for rankings to occur.

Meanwhile, you can find and grow other traffic acquisition channels, like Quora and Medium. I use both platforms to reach my target audience and increase website traffic.

Today, over 44.47% of my website traffic comes from these two platforms. What do I do to promote my website externally?

  • I aim to post one answer on Quora daily.
  • I share my website content in themed Quora spaces.
  • I post expert and opinion articles on this platform, linking back to my website.

I shared over 686 posts and 70 answers on Quora, growing my account from 0 to 404.3k views. At the same time, my stories on this platform consistently generate over 13k monthly views.

Consistency and hard work always pay off!

Final thoughts

You are not late to the party if you want to run a well-performing website.

I admit it’s more challenging today than it was a decade ago. But the good news is, the majority of your rivals will quit!

Not everyone has the motivation and patience to work on their passion diligently.

I launched a simple website without a fancy design in July 2021. In six months, it has already attracted over 1000 users every month from these channels:

  • Organic search. By targeting keywords with search traffic potential.
  • Referral Quora. By answering users’ questions and sharing content in spaces.
  • Referral Medium. By publishing articles and linking back to my website.

I bet you’ll see some epic results if you choose to replicate these strategies for your website.

Grab my 50-page guide to learn how I create blog posts that hit Google front page. You can easily replicate my 3-step process even if you are just starting.
