Welcome to my story of how I became Top Rated on Upwork. In 2016, I created an Upwork account out of curiosity, but it wasn’t until 2018 that I decided to take it seriously.

The beginning was not easy, but I gained valuable lessons along the way.

First and foremost, do you really want to be a freelancer? If the answer is yes, the next question is crucial: would you accept receiving only 5 dollars for a job worth more?

Many start this way, accepting modest proposals and building their careers gradually. It’s a challenge, but it’s worth it.

Becoming Top Rated on Upwork doesn’t happen overnight. It’s about consistency and dedicating yourself to something you truly enjoy and believe in.

1. Choose an area you can embrace for over a year without hesitation.
2. Be selective, accept only worthy jobs aligned with your values.

Lesson 3: Financial Responsibility: Pay Your Taxes

Now, about taxes. I know it can be challenging, but paying taxes is essential.

Fortunately, the digital age has simplified this process (I’m going to write an article about the countries where you can pay your taxes online as an individual or as a company, and there are several).

Fulfilling your tax obligations is not only legal but also contributes to positive karma. Invest time in financial management to ensure a solid foundation.

Lesson 4: Work with Love and Gratitude

Every opportunity is a chance for learning and growth.

Approach each job with love and gratitude. Be thankful for opportunities, even the small ones, as each contributes to your journey.

This positive mindset attracts satisfied clients, building your reputation on Upwork.
