How I Am Growing on Social Media in 2024 — As a First Time User
I finally started to use Social Media to talk about my passion — Day Trading
Now granted, I’ve had a X/Twitter account since August 2022, it is mainly for Forex news.
I have decided to start posting on social media platforms to try and grow my online presence.
I’ve been writing online now for around 6 months and have been working on a YouTube channel for about the same time.
I focus solely on Day Trading because it’s what I know best. For anyone who follows my writing it is what I mostly write about, more so exclusively these last few months.
Day trading as a space is full of great people with great ideas and there is so much good education out there.
However, it is also full of sharks and ‘bad actors’ who promise you the world and deliver the square root of nothing.
To supplement my YouTube Channel that will be going live in March 2024. I have started to post online and engage.
Only a few weeks in and the results are mixed and yet, surprising.
X/Twitter
I post on this about 5 times a day and engage with around 15/20 accounts per day.
Engagement is just replying to someone’s post. Nothing spammy, just adding an opinion or ‘value’.
The profile visits are interesting.
This tells me my current one is not very good and from the 535 visits, only 63 have followed me.
X is an incredible news source if you are day trading.
Especially GBPJPY.
Have literally just started this and to be honest it’s just a place for me to practice short form videos, reels. Created an account 12 days ago.
Before posting on YouTube and YouTube Shorts.
I enjoy some of the content on Instagram.
Unfortunately, I find it full of traders who are clearly trying to sell you up the river.
Which is sad but the space we live in.
I post 1 picture per day and engage with about 10 accounts per day.
Medium
Is Medium social media?
Who knows.
Anyway, I have been writing on Medium for 6 months. Written almost 2 articles and made almost $200 from the partner program. Which is mind blowing to be honest.
I read 10 stories every morning on the train to work and engage with all 10 authors.
I publish exclusively through publications but when I hit 500 followers am going to start my own publication and self-post for a while to see how that goes.
Started Pinterest 5 days ago as an experiement and have no idea what I am doing.
I’ve posted 4 of my Medium articles and 3 referral links to TradingView.
On my TradingView, my referral program has had 2 clicks in 1 day. Which is unreal.

Finally, I didn’t realise that this has 50,000,000 active users!
There is a social area within TradingView but I never used it, until now.
I posted a thought about Bitcoin and the ETF approval and it got about 8,000 views in a few days!
Ultimately, the plan is to post consistently on X and Instagram for the next few months.
5 per day on X
1 per day on Instagram.
Engage with about 15/20 people a day which will keep it authentic.
I’ll check in at the end of February and see how it’s going.
