The winning numbers 2022 Hong Bao Toto Lottery draw by Singapore Pools were picked on Friday night (11 February): 9, 13, 14, 16, 18, 28 with 10 as the additional number. Among the 6 winning numbers were 4 — [9,13, 14, 18] — from our original 2022 Tiger Year lottery picks.

This weekend, there is much teeth-gnashing and handwringing, regrets, and disappointments, in addition to huge financial loss by many. Last Saturday’s 2022 Hong Pao Lottery was the largest ever in Singapore with a jackpot prize of over S$19 million, shared by 8 winners. Many pundits and gamers would offer their analysis of why most did not win or just missed the Jackpot. It is a distinction without a difference, really.

A narrow miss by just 2 numbers to the main Jackpot prize mandates a review of our original 2022 Tiger Year lottery picks. Here are the lessons from our analysis for future play.

We have inadvertently missed 16 and 28 in our 6-numbers play. Together with the number 10, they were added to a revised 2022 Tiger Year lottery picks for future reference, as shown in the Table below:

The number 10 can be regarded as (1+0=1); 16 as (1+6=7) and 28 as (2+8=10=1); to be fully consistent with the other lucky Tiger Year numbers spawned from the basic 3 lucky numbers of 1, 3, and 4.

The numbers 10, 16, and 28 also have a relatively high frequency of being drawn, when seen from historical records provided by Singapore Pools.

The numbers 10 and 28 did not however appear in the Highest 15 and Lowest 10 numbers, except 16, in the 2021 lottery draws shown in the following Table:

We think the numbers 10, 16, and 28 are emergent numbers in the 2022 Tiger Year, appearing as they did in the auspicious 2022 Hong Bao Draw. Their consistency with the basic Tiger Year lucky numbers of 1, 3, and 4 also add to their mysterious appearance to be expected more frequently. Time will tell, but they would be factored into our future gaming strategy.

USING A SYNDICATE

Using a 50-players syndicate playing the 2022 Tiger Year lottery picks has improved the odds of winning in any or several Prize groups with minimal personal investments. Syndication is all about sharing. There is no best group size. Whether 3 or 20 or 50 or 100 members will work for you depends on the degree of mutual trust, commitment and gaming approach. Playing only 22 numbers would require the Syndicate to buy 74,613 boards of all possible 6-number combinations from the 22 Tiger Year lucky numbers. The total cost is only $74,613, or each member only pays $1,493. The respective nett winning is ($43,148-$1,493) $41,655.

In fact, without the new 3 numbers, and if the Hong Bao draw came only from the 19 original Tiger Year lucky numbers, each Syndicate member would have won the same Jackpot prize collectively as the 9th winner. The investments had been only $543 each for the purchase of just 27,132 tickets instead of 74,613. There are 27,132 6-number combinations from 19 numbers. The respective nett winning for each Syndicate member would have been ($43,148-$543) $42,605.

Every lottery draw is a learning experience. There is no guaranteed way to win the Jackpot Prize. The draws are all mutually independent events, and therefore prior numbers combinations do not have any influence on their future occurrences or absence. You may try mapping the frequency of all the numbers to generate lots of statistics and “patterns” that explain absolutely nothing that can be validated or supported meaningfully. Your 2022 relationship with the Water Tiger may very well be that wildcard to tip the gaming odds in your favour.
