ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE | FUTURE OF MOVIES
How Generative AI Can Change The World of Movies
Why Movie Writers Should Be Worried
In one of my earlier stories, I explained what Generative AI is:
In summary, Generative AI is a powerful technology that can generate new content with the help of a model. A model that has been trained by a vast amount of data and algorithms that self-learn to optimize the generated output.

Let’s take an example of a Generative AI implementation that generates text.
This model simplistically would be told to read a lot of books on a topic, say, for example, movies.

The algorithm will then help the model get trained on the movies. Once the model is trained, it can then be asked to generate information about movies.

Generative language models learn about patterns in language through training data.
Then, if this model is given a text, they can predict what comes next.
Eventually, as the model gets trained on more data, its intelligence is bound to increase.
Now, Generative AI models can not only generate text, but they can also generate an image and video.
As a first step, I could ask the model to give me a unique animated character that has a body and neck of a horse but the face of a dog.
I could then ask the model to generate a video of this character running from the left of the screen to the right.
I could then instruct the model on building more such snippets and combine an entire sequence of such snippets to create a movie scene.
So if I have the screenplay, the model will be able to generate movie scenes one after another and can produce an entire movie.

This could change the world of movies completely.
As you can imagine, even the task of generating a screenplay could be handed over to AI.

Since the model self learns eventually it can become so effective that generating a movie could just be a matter of providing the right prompts.
