How Does Life Change From a Fairy Tale to Reality?

Navigating Life’s Twists While Pursuing My Passion for a Café Business

I always wanted to do business.

But still doing my job in the daytime with part-time writing at night.

Sometimes responsibilities come with lots of sacrifices.

I’ve always harbored the dream of running my own business, specifically a cafe where I can delight people with an array of coffees and pastries. My passion extends beyond the culinary world — I adore connecting with strangers, learning about their cultures, and understanding their stories.

Everyone has dreamed of a fairytale life but reality comes a way different from what we think of.

I used to have dreams of becoming a businesswoman and owning my café, like something out of a fairytale. I imagined someone coming from far away to sweep me off my feet and change my life for the better.

But then reality hit.

To financially support my parents, I had to forego full-time college and delve into a job as a Quality Analyst at Flipkart, working from 9 to 5. Evenings were dedicated to studying for my college semesters, a routine that persisted for three years until I completed my diploma.

Unexpectedly, at 22, I found myself getting married.

Then I moved to Germany, where I needed a lot of money to open a business. So I landed a job to save funds for my cafe.

Since my parents are alone and I have a sister, I had to support them financially, which is why I continued working.

Balancing financial responsibilities became even more demanding when, at 24, I welcomed a baby girl.

Despite the challenges, I continued working full-time in the UK, ensuring a secure future for my daughter and supporting my darling husband in his investments and loan repayments.

Through this article, I share my journey with fellow writers, acknowledging the shared dreams of success and a fairy-tale life.

I know that many of you, just like me, have dreams of a fairytale world where you are super successful and where someone charming will come along and sweep you off your feet.

However, I have come to realize that the chances of these fairytales coming true are slim to none. Therefore, I have learned to accept my life as it is and find happiness in fulfilling my responsibilities. I choose to love those around me and appreciate the support of my loved ones.

Accepting life as it is doesn’t mean abandoning my dream of a business. Someday, not today, but someday, I will open my cafe.
