How Do You Know When You’re Home?

Your answer is your own

Home.

That one-word phrase that every person longs for. But how that home is defined varies from person to person.

Some folks have a specific geographic location in mind as an answer to the question, “Where’s home?”

  • Boston
  • The Upper Peninsula in Michigan
  • Southern California
  • 1234 Main Street, MyTown
  • Bed-Stuy

Any of those geographical locations make perfect sense as an answer to that question.

But there are a lot of people who can’t answer the “where’s home?” question with a particular location. Instead, they give answers like:

  • Anywhere I am
  • The next place I’m going
  • Wherever you are
  • Right here

Each person has an answer, and for every person, that answer is going to be different.

“Write a story about your home. Tell us why you consider that to be home, what’s right about, what calls you back there, what makes that place special above all others in the world.

If it’s somewhere specific, tell us why. If it’s a feeling that you carry with you, tell us about that.

If you lived in a lot of places, share the one that feels like home. If you’re a nomad, tell us why that fits the bill for you.

However, it is, please share the feeling of home.”
