How Do You Approach Someone To Work For Free In Exchange of Testimonials? (If you are struggling to get an opportunity to work for a business owner for free)

So I believe it’s important to cover the downside of working for free. Working for free isn’t actually free for established companies or freelancers that fulfills at scale (with a client base) who require copywriting services.
There is a cost of time — suppose they gave you to do a project, & it wasn’t up to standard at the end of delivery. The standard of how they want the copy to be.
Now the employer has 2 things to deal with. He/she has a deadline to deliver it to their client & you have consumed the majority of the time. They have to break their head on doing a revised version & to deliver it to the client on time which could be close to impossible
This also means they’ll have to stop the work they are doing to attend this project you messed up in order for it to be delivered on time. Which causes a backlog in their fulfillment to other clients.
They might end up paying another freelancer to get it done and it will be double or triple the cost they would have initially paid to hire a pro copywriter rather than your free service.
So I believe it’s important to cover the downside of working for free. Working for free isn’t actually free for established companies or freelancers (with a client base) who require copywriting services.
If the campaign doesn’t perform as intended. Now there is a cost in both money paid for the campaign & a reputation damage which is much costlier most of the time.
So how can you guarantee these downsides are covered?
