How did I start my fiction journey?

And why you should also

What comes to mind when I think about taking my book time?

Cozy blankets, a warm cup of tea, a rainy day, and the dreamy world of books.

As I read, the natural world slowly disappears, and I get completely lost in this magical place — a wonderful escape from everyday life and its worries.

This is my happiness

A momentary break from the world as I live within the pages, excited about what will unfold next.

So, let's explore how my journey began, how I started reading books, and what made me love it. Let's begin💫

High School days

Chetan Bhagat's "Revolution 2020" was everywhere in high school, a literary phenomenon on every bookshelf and stall.

One casual day at the market, I impulsively bought the book, uncertain if I would ever read it. Initially, I read two or three pages but couldn't finish it. I left it and forgot about it; as days passed, my school vacations came, and I opened the novel in a carefree mood. Gradually, my curiosity sparked, and my interest began, which grew with each chapter. This experience was new to me.

The setting in Banaras, a Holi city in India near my hometown, even connected me more with the story, and the dynamics of three friends from school made the story engaging.

The story, involving two boys vying for the affection of a girl, unfolds with many twists and turns. One boy excelled academically, securing a place in IIT, while the other faced challenges. The girl became the girlfriend of the former, and the narrative unfolded. I couldn't remember more, so Excuse me for any inaccuracies in my recollection; it's been years since I read that book.

Then, the Reading Journey began.

Furthermore, "Revolution 2020" marked the starting point of my reading journey. From those hesitant initial pages, I ventured into exploring various fictions. The book played a significant role in developing my reading habit, introducing me to a world of diverse narratives as this was the first book I read with honesty and enjoyed it too, which made me longing for more books; before this, I didn't know much about the fiction world. My imagination painted dramatic scenarios, and although the book's details have faded over the years, the impact lingers.

More Books, More Adventures…

I kept exploring more books, covering more tales, and walking more imaginative paths that painted colorful short films in my life journey where I was both the audience and the main hero. Sometimes, I pretended to be the main character and thought, what would I have done in that situation the second something terrible happened with the main? I decided to be the side character whose life was fun, though just supporting the main character, you know.

As I kept reading more fiction, I remembered two books that stood out. The first one, "If I Too Had a Love Story," had me secretly hoping for a happy ending, but it took a tragic turn, teaching me that life doesn't always follow the script we desire. The second, "Looking for Alaska," sometimes makes me wish I could live the adventurous spirit of Alaska, but again the tragic turn took place. These two were so beautiful; how could someone come up with them? It made me wonder often. I want to discuss these books in detail in a future blog. Moving on,

Through these stories, I started to appreciate the depth of emotions and the lessons behind this fiction. It wasn't just about escaping reality; it became a journey of self-discovery and understanding what your mind is capable of.

So, my reading journey continued, and each book added a layer to my reading experiences.

These books weren't just stories; each became a guide, helping me understand many different human emotions.

Reflecting on these moments, I see that my time with books is more than just a break — it's an ongoing exploration, a source of growth, one page at a time.

Discovering this whole new world expanded my imaginary experiences and offered a new canvas of life. It gave me the brush of life and said, paint it, paint it with your imagination, and through other people's narratives, they will add the ladder to your journey; you have to be on the steps, no matter if you fall you keep going bridged the gap between fiction and the real world.

When I think of all this, I have a smile on my face

It's the joy I am filled with because of reading books. I could have never experienced these magical realms without entering this world.

It’s like a Harry Potter world to my Muggle life every time I keep going back, there is nothing but magic, magic, magic.

My words cannot justify how this could change your perspective and world.

So, why should you start if you haven't yet?

I believe everyone's journey is different. Each individual connects with a story uniquely, which is truly magical to me. There's a quote that goes, "Unexplored paths lead to undiscovered treasures." So, why not explore these paths? You never know how they might turn into life's unexpected but beautiful treasures.

When are you going into this magical world?
