How ChatGPT And Google Bard Can Make Your Life Easier
A lot of people haven’t tried ChatGPT, Google Bard, or any other AI tools. Some colleagues I’ve talked to express concerns that these technologies are too modern, not fully developed, too costly, or simply too complex and seemingly useless. In response, I always emphasize that AI has the potential to simplify daily life. The key is understanding its capabilities and how it can be helpful.
Here’s a brief list of eight areas where I believe AI can assist you in becoming the best version of yourself:
Answering Questions Quickly and Accurately
Google Bard stands out as a rapid and accurate question-answering tool, utilizing real-world data sourced from Google Search to provide responses aligned with search results. This capability allows users to pose a wide range of questions, spanning topics like the weather or updates on their favorite sports teams, and receive comprehensive and up-to-date answers.
On the other hand ChatGPT is trained up to a certain point and, while its paid version grants access to the web, answering questions tends to be a more time-consuming process compared to the efficiency of Google Bard. I have been using the paid version for some time, but switched to Bard for a testrun.
Generating Content
Both ChatGPT and Google Bard demonstrate remarkable versatility in generating a wide array of creative text formats, spanning poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, emails, letters, and more. They adept to various questions, regardless of their complexity or unconventional nature.
An additional feature of Google Bard is its ability to access and respond to inquiries related to your emails and documents. Personally, I use Bard to compile and summarize my unread emails, although it’s worth noting that while it’s not flawless in its presentation, it performs pretty well in these early stages of development.
Translating Languages
Both have the capability to translate languages in real-time, making them invaluable tools for travelers, students, and anyone engaging with speakers of different languages.
For my personal use, I find ChatGPT particularly useful as some kind of a language tutor. Its Voice Conversations feature allows for a pseudo one-on-one tutoring experience, even though it’s primarily text-based and doesn’t provide pronunciation correction.
Speaking and Writing in Different Styles
ChatGPT and Bard excel at adapting their writing style to different requirements. Whether you need a formal tone for business documents or a more casual approach for personal emails, they can and will adjust. This allows for a wide range of purposes.
While I tend to avoid employing both for creative writing due to their tendency to generate texts with repetitive phrases, they do prove beneficial when crafting formal emails. In such cases, they contribute to the overall tone and quality of the communication to a certain extent.
Summarizing Information
One standout feature of both AI tools is their ability to summarize lengthy articles or documents. This proves invaluable for anyone with tight schedules who require rapid access to key information. Personally, I leverage this feature on websites to obtain summaries or essential points that I can incorporate into my notes for future reference.
An added advantage of ChatGPT’s premium version is the capability to even upload PDF files. This feature is particularly groundbreaking, especially when dealing with extensive documents spanning hundreds of pages, as it allows for the quick generation of summaries.
Helping With Everyday Tasks
Both can assist with daily tasks like planning your schedule or organizing travel plans. Despite being just language models, they possess extensive knowledge and can be helpful in tasks such as planning and managing to-do lists, like breaking down projects into manageable steps.
Personally, I’ve used ChatGPT multiple times for creating travel itineraries, and the results have consistently provided excellent starting points.

Apart from these six uses, Google Bard and ChatGPT can also help with different things like researching, learning new things, or coming up with ideas. Keep in mind that both are still in the works and they will become even better tools down the road.
