Summarize

How changing this 1 LinkedIn line got me 3X views in 16 hours!

It’s quite straight forward, no games or hustle here!

It works! Try it yourself

As I was stuck in my job search & couldn’t even land a job interview, I thought it’s time for some deep core change: the strategy shall be upgraded.

A change in strategy is needed!

I jumped into the internet, started reading articles & attending Linda classes when I found this:

HEADS UP!

One simple update on my LinkedIn profile -which I believed looked pretty pretty much GOOD (I truly believed so back then)- made all the difference I needed!

Here’s simply the steps of what I did:

  1. This is what my headline looked like:
Before,,,,,

In case you haven’t guessed yet, I work as a Diversity Talent Sourcer. To me, this was PERFECT!

I spent 33 minutes thinking of that line above…. like, that is A LOT of time, right?

Anyways, let’s move to the next point:

2. Stuff-in your keywords!

The trick says: you need to mention your skills; mainly the ones referring directly to the kind of jobs you are looking for. The whole point is to make it super easy for hiring managers to, well.. find you!

As I was looking for a Technical Sourcing or Account Management roles, this is what I came up with:

After!

As you see, it’s no rocket science, nothing out of the box, BUT if you ask me before: I’d never write it this way!

I always thought those were details for the summary section, but it looks like.. it’s not!

People Should Be Able To Know What You Do From A Glance — Aka the PSBATKWYDFAG rule (I’m trying to make it more memorizable so you can easily refer back to it, in case you forgot)

And to the final step:

3. You hit SAVE, and forget about it!

Honestly, I was skeptical & I didn’t think this will have that great impact, but I thought: what do I have to lose anyway?

I did this 5p.m. mytime, which was 10a.m. EST, finished my day & went to sleep.

When I woke up the day next, and as I grabbed my cup of coffee & checked my LinkedIn feeds at 9a.m. I was like woooooow, what is going on?

The number of my page views TRIPLED! And I mean like times 3 tripled.. it was insane!

In that day alone I got messages from 3 recruiters & a lady that wanted to know about my employer, PowerToFly and how I can help her in her job search.

Crazy, right?

The lesson I learn from all of the above is THIS: you need to always A/B test basically everything! The header, the summary, the featured section..

You’ll be surprised by how one change may get you 2 times or -in my case- 3 times the results you used to have. The keyword here is to start & give it a TRY.

Heree’s a final reminder of what I changed to get me results in 16 hours:

Before vs After
