How Are You Spending Your October?

Have you seen many leafy layers on the ground yet?

Photo by Jeremy Thomas on Unsplash

Perhaps many of you have stepped on leafy beds on the ground. And yet many still have to wait for a while to enjoy the reddish scenery in autumn.

Besides thinking about winter approaching, how are you planning to spend your time during the last eight days of October?

Does it seem to rain?

Does it seem to be warmer in your area?

I will have a few warm and cold days, then a few warm days.

Today was a nice day. I saw a stunning sky with fluffy clouds, so I took these photos after lunch.

Nature

I haven’t enjoyed watching maple or red leaves this year yet. But seeing the 2022 Fall Foliage Prediction Map gives me a sense of autumn besides having food that makes me feel autumn. It’s still nice outside, not too cold in the afternoon like today.

Food

Sweet potatoes

They make me feel the season. I usually have baked ones. Some are truly sweet and tasty.

I recently learned there are frozen baked Japanese sweet potatoes— instantly freeze them after baking them. I will probably try them someday.

Even just now, my mouth becomes watery when I think about them.

The author created sweet potatoes.

Pumpkins

Another ingredient that lets me associate with autumn and Halloween. It is a great one for dishes both savory and sweet. If the pumpkin is sweet, like Kabocha or Asian pumpkin, I can just cut them into small pieces, microwave them, and serve them.

As for sweets, I love to watch pumpkin pies in showcases at stores. I may make something this month.

Picturing a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream in a cafe is lovely. Now it makes me hungry.

And there are scary pumpkins.

Halloween Decorations

Jack-O’-lantern

The face can be a little funnier, depending on how you carve the eyes and mouth. People usually aim to turn the quietly-sitting-there-pumpkins into scary ones with a light flare inside.

Then there are objects in the front or back yard. Spider webs are here and there, and around the windows.

Halloween is coming.

Trick or treat!

Spooky ghosts, skeletons, and bats are all Halloween icons.

The author created a spooky ghost.

Are you going to decorate your home and prepare some costumes and candies this year? I’m not.

But I’m always looking forward to seeing some hilarious and adorable costumes for their human babies and fur babies.

I found UPS dog costumes super cute and funny a few days ago. And a photo of a human baby in a bee costume being held up high in the air by a mother in a simple flower costume was awesome.

Whatever you do, I hope you be kind and enjoy your days.
