How an Animal Shelter Reunited an Abandoned Dog With Her Homeless Mom
An abandoned dog was brought to the McKamey Animal Center, at Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a handwritten note attached to her collar. The note read,
“Please keep my name. My name is Lilo. Please love me. My mom can’t keep me and is homeless with 2 kids. She tried her best, but can’t get help. I cost too much for her. She really loves me and I’m a great dog and love to be loved on. Please don’t abuse me.”
Lauren Mann, the centre’s director, and other staff, addressed a note to the dog’s owner on Facebook.
On January 25, Lilo’s owner came to the shelter and had a teary reunion with her.
Mann said they were doing their best to find a suitable location where Lilo and her mother could live together.
