Summary

A Black child faced racial discrimination by a white teacher, Stuart Sullinger, in Park Hill, Missouri, who repeatedly used the n-word, leading to student protests and calls for the teacher's termination.

Abstract

The article discusses an incident of racial discrimination in a Missouri school where a white teacher, Stuart Sullinger, directed the n-word at Black students. Despite the students' complaints and prior incidents, the school's authorities initially took no action against the teacher. The situation escalated when a Black student confronted Sullinger about his use of the slur, resulting in the student's suspension. In response, students organized a protest, occupying the school gym to demand Sullinger's firing. The article underscores the systemic racism faced by Black children in schools and emphasizes the need for Black parents to advocate for their children and the importance of establishing a separate educational system to protect Black children from such racism.

Opinions

  • The article conveys a strong opinion that white teachers who engage in racist behavior, such as using racial slurs, should face significant consequences.
  • There is a sentiment that the school authorities failed to protect Black students by not taking appropriate action against the teacher's racist conduct.
  • The author believes that Black children are often left to fend for themselves against institutional racism within educational settings.
  • The article suggests that Black parents have a responsibility to actively challenge racism in schools and support their children in the face of such injustices.
  • It is argued that the creation of a separate educational system for Black children could shield them from the racism prevalent in predominantly white educational institutions.
  • The author commends the students for taking action through protest but also criticizes the lack of immediate parental involvement in addressing the issue.
  • The piece implies that the school board's decision to suspend the Black student who confronted the teacher reflects a broader pattern of systemic racism and white supremacy within the school's administration.

STOP BLACK RACISM

How A Racist Teacher Called A Black Child The N-Word & Still Kept His Job

White teachers need to be punished for this type of behavior

We all know that children are the future, but if Black people refuse to protect our children will have no future.

Our children are under constant assault in this sick, racist country and few places are as perilous for Black children as the schools.

Last month, a so-called “teacher” in Park Hill, Missouri named Stuart Sullinger saw some Black students walking down the hallway and he decided that would be a good time for him to tell him about the n-word.

He said it to them several times.

The Black students went to the school authorities, of course; and the school authorities did absolutely nothing, of course.

Because the kids were told, “they didn’t have any proof.”

It wasn’t the first time this suspected white supremacist had done this, only a few days earlier, Stuart Sullinger was caught on video being confronted by a Black student in the class and the student told him that he didn’t have the right to use the n-word.

Take a look for yourself:

The suspected white supremacist’s argument to justify him using the n-word was him seeing the Black child use it so that would give him the right to use it as well.

Rightfully so, the young man checked him and let him know that under no circumstances that he can say the n-word.

And of course, the school board got on the white supremacist code and sided with Stuart by suspending the Black child for 10 days.

Even then, he has to meet with school administrators to determine if he can be allowed to return to school.

Keep in mind, this incident happened before the one where this white dude was harassing the Black student in the hallway and the school didn’t do anything about that.

So what changed?

What changed was that the students organized themselves this time and occupied the school gym and said they would continue to do so until this suspected white supremacist was fired.

First of all, good for them. Young Black people should always take matters into their own hands when facing injustice.

But secondly, they shouldn’t have to because that’s supposed to be their parent’s job.

Black children should NEVER be the ones who are standing up to racist teachers all by themselves. That’s their parent’s job.

Black parents should’ve been raising hell against these folks — shame on them for not doing so.

But Black people, this is a reminder as to why we need our own educational system so we won’t have to deal with this type of Anti-Black Racism.

We need to be the ones to educate our own children.
