How a Password Can Change Your Life Forever
This would change our approach towards passwords forever
Passwords are a gateway to our virtual world. The world where we spend more time than the real world. It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that our true personalities are hidden right behind our protection code i.e. the password.
That is why perhaps, we are always afraid of hackers. Not because they will harm us, but because they will know us. They will see the real us and misuse certain information against us.
People nowadays have varied types of passwords. Some popular ones are:
Hacker-friendly- 1234
The movie buff- Titanic#1912
The lover boy- IloveJENNY_98
The spiritual ones- Godistheultimateone
The absolute weirdos- ttlshiwwyauatwshladits@43

The New Age Perspective
If you have noticed one thing about passwords, then it is their repetition. We all have email accounts or social media accounts that we need to check every single day.
We have auto-saved our passwords for our convenience so we don't have to type them again and again.
But let's change that habit. Let’s remove the auto-save option and type the password each day by ourselves.
There are two major benefits in doing this:
- We don’t have to worry about recollecting our passwords while using a different device. Because we are not dependent on the site to save it for us. We let our brains do the honors.
- Well, the second one I will share with the help of a short story I heard many years back. So here it goes.
A Man Who Quit Smoking Using a Password
Many years ago, there was a person named Steve. He was in his forties but already looked ten years older. Blame it to his dull and wrinkled facial skin.
People may have easily mistaken him to be sick with a life-threatening disease. But that was not the case.
He was held captive by a life-threatening habit — Smoking. He started smoking as a teenager. What started off as an effort to look cool, later proved to be a tenacious habit. Not leaving him alone ever.
He tried everything under the sun. From joining the rehabilitation centers to the nicotine patches. Well, he ran away from the centers and the patches barely made any difference.
He was getting frustrated by the day. His wife looked at him disgust every time he lit the fire. Even his 5-year-old son too seemed interested to look cool like his dad and wished to smoke like him when he grew up.
He would feel excited to get the cigarette packet from his dad’s pocket and give it to him. The son felt a great sense of achievement.
He had no clue he handed his dad a packet of Death.
One day, while working in his office he was required to log into his email account to trace an old order. Due to some issues with his keyboard, he had to switch to another computer. This computer didn’t have his password saved. It had been ages since he had typed the password by himself.
Before he could figure it out from the old one, it had been sent to the engineer for repair.
He had no choice but to change his password. Just when he bent down to type the new password on the computer, the cigarette pack fell out of his pocket. He picked it up in frustration and threw it on the table.
He then pulled up a chair resting nearby and got himself seated. Took a deep breath and set his new password as,
I WANT TO QUIT SMOKING
That, ladies and gentlemen, was an epoch-making event of his life. He had no clue that his life was going to take a beautiful turn from that very moment.
The next day onwards, he typed his new password on his own. For some reason, he chose not to save it as he was working on some other computer.
Weeks passed by, he kept typing this newly set password into the computer. Slowly, but gradually his addictive habit went through a makeover. The man who blew away 5–6 packs in a day came down to 2–3 in a matter of weeks.
Remember, he is the same person who had tried various treatments for getting rid of this nasty habit. After 4months, his smoking reduced to just one or two cigarettes per day. Anyone close to him could vouch for that. How do you ask?
He started looking fresher. He started feeling better. His lungs felt free for a change. Because they could draw more oxygen, Steve ended up feeling more energized than ever.
It took him time to realize, but one day while typing the password again he realized where the life-changing miracle had stemmed up from.
The password had acted as a positive affirmation for him.
Moral Of The Story
Reminding yourself what you wish to be every day can act as positive reinforcement. Instead of using passwords which have no meaning, why not use something that can reinforce the end goal in a positive way each day.
One password changed Steve’s life. Similarly, you can change your life too. If you look forward to being a better human, set your password to —
Let us be better humans💕
