How a Conscious Life Gives You More Freedom In Life

Your superpower to live in ultimate freedom starts when you move from unconscious habits to conscious living.

Do you ever feel that you can live a much better life, but something is pulling you down? Are you tired of attempting to be happy? Do you want to live in complete freedom but don't know how?

Life is a struggle when we see chaos everywhere. Be it personal relations, professional settings, or just within the mind. Peace seems distant and illusionary.

Nobody likes the trapped feeling. Yet we imprison ourselves within our invisible walls of beliefs and conditioning.

A conscious life shatters these walls. A renewed sense of freedom welcomes a light-hearted and joyful life.

Your World Changes With You — From Unconscious to Conscious Life Affair

Years back, I thought I could live an extraordinary life if…

I’m not answerable to anyone and truly free to do my things. I have loads of money. I made a name for myself. I’ve some supernatural power.

Why?

Because it'd validate my precious existence in the eyes of others, they will respect me more and not dare to brush my little ego aside.

But I hadn't thought I was digging a hole for myself. I was trying to satisfy my clever mind.

It was like taking pleasure in proving my superiority. Even if in thoughts!

Hoping for things to change led me to more frustration. Even when situations changed, nothing changed precisely.

I was the same mess from inside as I was before.

But my perspective and experience about the world changed when I started working on myself.

Situations are important. They shape who you are.

But solely relying on changing the situation to improve your life is a myth.

Without changing yourself, nothing changes.

A trip to an exotic location may give you a change in environment. But it is temporary. A new romance can make you feel out of the world, but for how long.

You slip into your reality sooner or later.

There is no escape. But everything changes when you turn your focus from outside to inside you.

That is the start of living a conscious life.

Peace Depends on 'You,' Not on Your Situations

Harsh Truth — The ‘endless lists of shoulds’ in your life overburden you.

"I should be pretty. I should earn this much. I should have XYZ. I should be this/that. My life is supposed to be this or that."

We all create many myths about life. Instead of living what it is, we dream of what it should be.

Dreaming is alright. It takes you where you want to be. Inspirational thoughts are necessary.

But the contradiction between your actual life and dreams creates significant friction. It causes you to suffer.

The limited beliefs of 'shoulds' drag your motivation down. Your rigid pattern stops your life's flow.

You may think more money, power, and love may change your life. But it won't change how you feel inside.

Bringing awareness to your life makes things simple in this complex life.

Conscious life gives you the power to change how you feel within (without changing the external factors).

Awareness can do such magic.

During the chaos, silence is the only place that heals. And silence happens when you go deep within yourself.

Unpredictable life stretches your limits. But you don't always have to scatter in a mess every time.

Conscious living separates you from being the doer and situation. You become a witness to things happening around you.

An Exercise to Realize Why and How Situations Affect Us

Remember any challenging phase of your life where you felt helpless and lost.

How do you feel about it right now? Is it worse or better?

How you felt at that time may differ from how you think now.

Just note your feelings.

If you feel worse than before

It means you have attached yourself more to the incident. You may have also made it into your identity.

If you feel better

You may see the situation objectively now. The distance of time and space may create a gap between you (as a victim) and the problem itself.

When you see anything from a distance, it affects you less.

When you stop identifying with anything, it loses control over you. You become free to respond.

No sudden reactions come. You remain anchored in your peace.

Conscious Living Uncovers Who You Really Are

A constant stream of water creates a dent in the stone on which it falls. Similarly, constant lies leave an imprint in your mind and heart.

The truth about life gets lost as we indulge more in the world's lies.

From childhood, we have been told to make a name for ourselves. Compete against the world to prove itself.

We go on losing ourselves as we run wildly.

But what is truth?

The ultimate truth of life is the same for everyone. But no one can experience it while stuck in the muddiness of ego.

Until you reach the ultimate truth, make way from your reality which is unique to you. Your special situations, surrounding people, emotions, and reactions are your indicators.

Use them to propel you forward in living a mindful life.

Conscious living helps to create a gap between you and what you are not.

When you eat consciously with closed eyes, you become the eating. When you breathe consciously, you become the breath.

Consciousness dissolves all the false coverings that we think we are. It uncovers your true nature.

You get anchored in your absolute nature of peace and bliss as you go deep inside yourself. Nothing affects your balance anymore.

A worse situation may come, but you remain unaffected.

How?

Because you are not attached to any situation. You are rooted in your true nature and not flimsy outer conditions.

Conscious living reveals the truth of life. This is where you truly start living a life of complete freedom.

Where you have the privilege to respond.

Your knee-jerk reactions lose control. Tranquility and calmness override any impulsive, unconscious behavior.

Real power doesn’t come from controlling others, but when peace overtakes you. This power is a ‘side-effect’ of conscious life.

Takeaways

A life of total freedom does not come from any supernatural power. It lies in the heart of conscious living.

A conscious life identifies your limitations to live your dream life. As the illusions drop, you become closer to your inner being. The pure life. The pure consciousness.
