Hosanna!
A poem for the season
Hosanna! They yelled As He rode into town On a donkey Cloaks and palm fronds spread before Him.
They cheered And expected Things would get better But they got worse.
A week later Some yelled “Crucify.” Pilate acquiesced And washed his hands.
The King would die At the hands Of those who hated, And all would cry.
Then on the morn of day 3 Some women went to the tomb To prepare the body, But He was not there.
Where could He be? “Gone to Galilee,” an angel said. Go and tell the world. He has risen!
And so they did.
Rejoice! …I say again, REJOICE!
