Hope, Healing and Humour Open for Submissions Again!

Hello, beloved Pub Family and other Mediumites!

A handful of months ago, my life was about to go through some significant changes (including moving across the planet — and then unexpectedly having to move 2,000 miles away just weeks later). I had to step away from my pubs. I shut down Shorties But Goodies completely but have kept Hope, Healing and Humour functional as these are the themes of my life and work.

I had to delete all writers so no one would submit and wonder why I wasn’t publishing if they didn’t know I’d put the pub on hold. It was a sad, sad day when I did that!

But yay! We’re open again and looking for great writers!

If you would like to be added or re-added as a writer, here’s what you need to know:

First and foremost, every piece that I publish needs to be on the theme of Hope, Healing or Humour. This should be obvious but I figured it was worth saying! I want pieces with heart and soul, pieces with substance, pieces that make readers feel uplifted, better, inspired, entertained, or like everything’s going to be okay.

Another biggy: You’ll need to be sure to tag and share a story from at least one writer.

I accept only well-written, well-edited articles/stories/poems. This is for a couple of reasons: 1) it cuts down the time it takes me to edit and publish; and 2) it maintains a high standard of writing so readers know they’ll get excellent quality when they stop by.

And a bonus with that second point: it increases the number of reads of everyone’s work because readers will want to settle in and see what else is on offer here at HHH.

Splendiferous, right? Right!

TAGGING: Essential if you want your piece to be seen! Otherwise, it won’t show up under the tabs with those titles. It’ll slide down the list of submissions and be missed. You will need to use at least one of these tags: Inspiration, Mindset, Life Lessons, Spiritual, or Humour (note the Canadian/British spelling of humour because, well, I’m Canadian and British!)

Drafts only, please, for a bunch of reasons — mainly to ensure quality (which honours the integrity of all writers for HHH), that the piece is appropriate in content for this pub, that you remembered to tag and include a link for at least one other writer, and to be sure that your piece doesn’t slide way down the list because it was published previously and therefore, no one will see it.

Standard Medium guidelines apply, of course, and please remember to credit your photos, use Alt Text, and also use a good headline analyzer to help boost your reads. I use this one all the time — along with this link to be sure you’re capitalising your titles properly.

The more professional the appearance of your work, the more likely it is to be read.
