Honoring Veterans

A contest with a very special meaning.

Veterans Day is quickly approaching. November 11th marks a day when we can take a moment to reflect, remember, and honor those that have served our country.

These brave souls have risked everything including their lives to fight for our freedom. I wish I could thank every one of them in person. If I see someone in public wearing a Veteran cap, I always make sure to thank them.

DR Rawson - The Possibilist, also a brave Veteran, created a fantastic contest to honor these brave men and women. His prompt is:

“What would you like to say to all veterans who have served our country? All veterans that have served, all of whom gave some and some gave all.”

What I Would Like to Tell a Veteran

There is so much that I would love to say to every brave soul that was courageous enough to fight for our country, our rights, and our freedom.

I would like to thank you for your bravery, and for risking it all for the freedom that we all share. We owe it to you for keeping our country safe and for the rights that we have every day. No sacrifice goes unnoticed. You may have left your jobs, your home, your family, and everything that you had in order to leave and fight for us.

You are an extremely brave and selfless individual to put everything on the line and continue to fight without knowing what the outcome will be. Your dedication and persistence to stand up and fight for what you believe is worth every acknowledgment.

Loved Ones

My cousin served in the Marines for many years and my late grandfather was an Army General. Both of these family members had a huge passion for being able to fight for our country. I have thanked my cousin over and over again. My grandfather sadly passed away before I was born, however, I thank him in my prayers.

I also have a few friends that have served in the military.

Salute

If you have a moment, please reflect for a minute or two on this special day to honor those that fought to keep us all safe, for those that risked their lives, and for those that sadly lost theirs. Veterans and those currently serving are heroes in this world and your bravery does not go unnoticed.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
