Honestly, There Shouldn’t Be Levels of Truth
Speaking truth to others no matter what; lying lasts only a moment and destroys

“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” – Mark Twain
Everyone has told a lie or a white lie before. Why do people lie? Is this a behavior that we eventually grow out of, or do some people settle into lying, and it just becomes their twisted world?
Lying is a sin. But what about a white lie? Who’s the judge of if a lie is just that, or is it a white lie? There is a fine line, and either way, they are still lies, and both are sinful. They are leaving the honest person feeling hurt.
I’m sure we have all caught someone in a lie at some point in our lifetimes. When we’re lied to, it leaves us wondering why? It also crushes our spirit. Is it because the person lying has issues? I believe so.
When you tell the truth, no matter what, you never need to remember the story, the story of truth speaks for itself.
How to promote a household that encourages honesty should be a top priority. Telling the truth is a trait of high integrity. Having high morals is a choice. Our gut and faith will lead us to the truth.
Making the truth a top priority
Let’s face it; life is challenging. There isn’t an easy book on how to create an honest household.
Someone could be telling a lie simply because they don’t know better. My faith became tested when my best friend spoke lies based on her own beliefs and worldly ways. I’m choosing to dig deeper into the Bible of truth for the real answers.
Luckily, we can take responsibility to build a home based on scripture. However, it’s harder to speak the truth around nonbelievers at work or in relationships outside of our homes.
The Bible is the truth. God’s written word is all we need to succeed in life. However, how many of us listen to the lies that it’s not enough? Maybe people are telling you, praying isn’t enough, and it’s crushing your faith. Do you believe those lies?
Making the truth the only way
The truth will set you free. When we listen to the voices of others, speak those lies of disbelief, they hurt. They plant a seed of doubt, but if it takes root, then your faith can be left depleted.
The good news is – it only takes the truth the size of a mustard seed to move a mountain.
“And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you. ”
— Matthew 17:20
I just wrote an article on being diligent and I’m working on restoring my faith as well. When someone criticizes the way you live, it changes you. If they tell you the lies of the worldly ways, you ask yourself why? But their lives are twisted to fit their own warped belief system.
If scripture is the truth, why do we listen to the worldly ways to live? Why do we choose the hard path when there is an easier way?
Speaking the truth back into our lives and those within our circle of influence will slowly push out the lies. When your faith shines brightly on those around you it creates an atmosphere of honesty, love, and high integrity. Don’t listen to the lies that tell you God is not enough nowadays.
I’ve heard people say things like, “if there is a God, why do bad things happen?” This question fills others with doubt, not hope for a brighter future.
I’m grateful for my faith. I’m working on quieting the voices of doubt that lurk around every ally here on earth.
Making the truth the only way
When we truly trust that God is enough, we will start living differently. Are we rewarded for every sacrifice? I believe so. When we don’t believe wholeheartedly, we start to believe in the lies of the world.
It can start with what seems like a white lie and then becomes even bigger until you are living a life filled with lies, doubt, mistrust, sin, anxiety, or even depression.
When we fix our eyes on Jesus and trust his powerful words of truth, a new living level happens. You stop doubting in the impossible, and the Lord sends those mountains screaming.
We must stop believing in manifestation as in our own abilities for the truth tells us we must first believe.
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
– Mark 9:23
Those unbelievers in our lives are not the people we should trust for biblical truths. We need to fill ourselves up with the truth and hold true to our beliefs. Listening to any kind of lie will leave you feeling devastated.
Here’s the truth
Seek first His truth, for the lies of this world are self-serving. We are not able to achieve anything in this life without the Lord Almighty.
Has someone lied to you lately? Have they been speaking words of destruction and despair? If so, the truth is – it’s never too late to begin again. I am slowly restoring my faith one scripture of truth at a time. I’m grateful for freedom of choice. Who do you trust? Don’t listen to the liars any longer.

I’m thankful for a personal relationship with the Lord. I know that He is always as close as I allow Him to be. He never leaves me; the world has a way of leading us astray through words of lies from others, causing a lack of faith. Slowly He is restoring me one truth at a time.
I’m thankful for Trista Signe Ainsworth and her promise-filled publication, Thank You Notes.
