Honestly, I’m Overwhelmed With Music

Anyone else feeling this?

Who doesn’t love Enrique? Pinterest.

Spotify has 50 million songs, Apple Music has 60 million of them. I can’t imagine how many more YouTube has.

There is so much music to choose from and it gets overwhelming.

Some of you already know this, but for a period of time, I decided to not stream. For an entire half-year, I refused to subscribe to streaming services and only paid for records. This experience literally changed my life, and I should write more about it here one day.

But even with The Riff, there’s SO MUCH music to check out that my brain goes “ahhhhhhh.”

Over time, I became an album-listener. In the three weeks I returned to streaming (this time to Apple Music instead of Spotify), I only jammed to one playlist. You read that right: in almost a month, this kid in his twenties listened to only ONE FREAKING PLAYLIST. The playlist? Enrique Iglesias Essentials.

Me gusta.

I listened to Enrique because I was in a celebratory mood. Although no comprendo español, you can’t go wrong with flopping your hair all over the place to him.

Other than that, I’ve pretty much listened to less than ten albums in the past half-year. Most of them are, as expected, from Radiohead.

Thanks to everyone for blogging at The Riff. I love you all, my children. I can say that because I have long hair and a beard 😉

P.S. I do see how counterintuitive it is for me, out of all people, to write this. But it’s the truth. And I live by my truth.
