Homes: The Keepers of Our Energy

What will you leave behind?

Somewhere deep within the confines of our homes lies invisible energy, not as a consequence of our actions but as a testament to the collective experiences of past wonders.

The walls themselves seem to hold the history and memories of those who once resided — If we dare to consider that time isn’t merely a linear progression, it becomes apparent that a place’s past can profoundly influence its present.

I often think about the marks I’ve left in the places I’ve called home.

In my last apartment, I noticed a unique pattern on the hardwood floor, maybe from the previous tenants dancing. I decided to leave it — hoping to somehow connect my experiences with theirs.

I believe our homes hold energy in many ways, as if every person who enters leaves a part of themselves behind.

If the subconscious can access both past and future, maybe it regards transient living situations as less significant than places that truly feel like home.

I think most of us are in need of an environmental change. Our subconscious seems to recognize the difference between a temporary place and a true home.

How do you feel about change? Do you welcome it or resist it?

I’ve learned to embrace change because, honestly, I have no other choice. Each move has taught me something new and showed me how much I’ve grown since my early 20s.

One of the houses I lived in had a special vibration, as if it held a sacred story just waiting to be told. It was a Victorian house, elegant with tall windows and beautiful intricate details. The energy in that house felt like a story slowly unfolding.

The energy in a home is unique. It absorbs the emotions and experiences of its inhabitants.

In the case of that Victorian house, I felt the energy of families and the warmth of many gatherings.

Later, I discovered that the house had been built in the late 1800s by a doctor, whose healing and kindness seemed to radiate through the walls.

I fully embraced the energy of that house.

I started to love being there, it was like a magnet for good energy. It was around this time that I made the decision to only welcome positive energies into my home.

I also started to spiritually cleanse every new home I moved into. I realized the energy of past residents became a part of my journey, and I wanted to leave a positive mark for those who would come after me.

Homes hold energy, and it’s our responsibility to use this energy positively in our lives. Embracing the stories of the past will inspire and guide us through the changes and challenges of our present.”

It’s not just homes that store these vibrations. At this point, anything with four walls or a ‘soul’ can store energy. With that in mind, it’s important to mention that we should be conscious of the homes and places we visit because although places store energy, I believe the places we visit can have an effect on our bodies and souls as well.

I remember this one particular sunny and joyful day. I felt like visiting a friend that I hadn’t seen or spoken to in a while. For context — This friend and I had experienced falling outs more times than I could count due to negativity and misunderstandings — upon entering their home a sudden sense of sadness and anxiety blanketed my body. I felt this huge sense of dread. I hated it, my spirit couldn’t engage and I left to never return again!

The experience left me with such an odd feeling that I couldn’t shake, which then led me to this point.

Through research, I concluded that this is likely due to subconscious Associative Memories —

“Certain places may trigger memories and emotions associated with past experiences. When we revisit a place with positive or negative associations, we may feel a sense of residual emotional “energy” tied to those memories.”
