Home Delivery of Heaven and Hell
A Fictional Story by Krishna V Chaudhary
Once there was an old woman. She was living a peaceful life. She gave her everything to others, but destiny gave her nothing. When she was in her early thirties, her husband died in the line of duty. She didn’t have any children either. Thus, at an early age, she was all alone by herself. She didn’t know what to do next. So, she then decided to extend her arms and make the world hers. Since then she has dedicated every day of her life to helping others. She visited orphanages to spend time with children. And worked with organizations to help the people in need.
She spent more than 50 years of her life helping other people, raising funds for cancer patients, and helping other women of the society. People often called her ‘Amma’ (mother). She too died peacefully in her eighties.
When she died, the angel of death came to take her. She asked him, that whether they will be going to heaven or hell. To this, he replied “the way you had dedicated your life to others is commendable. The amount of exceptional work done by you is applaudable. Thus, we are neither going to heaven nor hell. I am here to take you to the place where God lives.” Hearing this, she rejoiced.
When they were on their way to god’s place. The lady said to the angel of death that “While I was down on earth, I had heard a lot about heaven and hell. Before proceeding further, can we go and visit both the places?” He replied “Dear lady, although, I do not have this authorization. But seeing the number of good deeds you have done in your life. I permit you to visit heaven and hell. Then we will be going to our destination.”
On their way, there came a door. It was the way to hell. The moment she opened the gate, she could hear painful voices of people, crying, howling. As she started going inside, she noticed there were people in the rooms, and all of them were crying and sobbing. There was only one person in one room. They all were pale and feeble. But none of them was in the group, they all were alone.
It appeared as they were starving for months. Also, she noticed a huge 50-feet high container that was filled with delicious food. There was a tempting aroma of food all around. She approached a person and asked about the container.
The person sobbingly replied “This is a huge food container which gets filled every day with food. But the height of the container makes it unreachable to get food. We are here for months and years. See how unlucky we are! Despite having a lot of food available, none of us can eat it. We all are starving here. (crying)”.
Sadly, she came out of the gate of hell and started going further. After some distance, there came another gate. It was written heaven on it.
As soon as she entered the gate, she heard people’s cheerful giggles. She saw the heaven was all green and there were trees and grass all around.
Surprisingly, there was the same container of food as it was in hell and the aroma of food was also alike. To know more about the place and people, she approached a person sitting near her.
She asked “Can you tell me more about heaven? How you managed to get food from the container?”
The person smiled and replied “This is a really lovely place, we all sit together and spent most of the time together. Most of the time, we all share our experiences of the time when we were alive on earth.”
“And yes the food. You see, this container gets filled up every day with a variety of delicious food. First, we all tried very hard to reach the mouth of the container, but none of us reached it. Then slowly, we all got the idea of making a ladder from the bamboo sticks and now we all eat up to our brims. ”
The lady smiled and came out of heaven too.
Conclusion
When we are together, and united, we all can conquer the problems of our lives. If we don't share love and trust with other people, our life will be similar to hell.
If we extend our arms, and love and respect others and treat them the way we like to be treated, our life will be much similar and more peaceful to heaven.
