Hollywood’s One Man Show
CBS’ TV series, All Rise Resumes Production Featuring Virtually-Made Social Distancing Episode Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Hollywood never disappoints as it adapts to the times in which we are living. On Tuesday, CBS announced that production has continued on one of it’s newest shows, All Rise starring Simone Missick as Judge Lola Carmichael, serving the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The producers of the show pitched the idea of using the COVID-19 Pandemic as a backdrop in the next episode to the TV network and it was accepted immediately. The episode is currently in the hands of the writers as they are quickly working to finish the script.
L.A.’s Former District Attorney, Gil Garcetti, serves as the shows consulting producer. He is giving insights into how the justice system operates in Los Angeles, even during a pandemic.
When it is ready for production, the Director, Michael Robin, plans on using the latest and greatest technology to shoot. It will be filmed using FaceTime, WebEx, Zoom and other innovative technologies.
A single cinematographer will shoot B roll footage to capture accurate images that reflect how the city of Los Angeles currently looks and is functioning. VFX will be used to create the necessary and familiar backdrops.
For those of us who work in Entertainment, it certainly gives us hope in this time of uncertainty. Hats off to the show’s producers for thinking outside of the box. A tentative plan for the show to air is on Monday, May 4 at 9 PM on CBS.
