Holidays And Cultural Traditions-The 2020 Difference
Making the most amidst all of it

It’s been a really tough year so far for everyone-everywhere around the globe. Never thought I would pen ‘tough year’ and ‘around the globe’, in one sentence! There are gazillions of wonderful cultures, traditions, festivities and holidays around the globe, each connected with their unique stories or tales or family traditions! So far, we’ve been a part of two countries and as a family, we’ve inculcated a very close liking and bond with most of the festivities, holidays and other beautiful celebrations in both. As a child, I was raised to happily celebrate all special moments, celebrations and traditions and I’ve always kept that spirit alive within my family.
Most of these beautiful festivities and holidays are celebrated around the globe and begin around October. For instance; Halloween, Diwali, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. All of them celebrated either with family, friends or both. Ah! what amazing vibes every holiday season brings in!
The 2020 difference : Starting with Halloween, this year made it really tough on kids in many countries where Halloween is one of the most awaited times by little ones. The fun of kids, and/or the whole family carving pumpkins, decorating front yards, selecting costumes and most importantly, the trick or treat collections in tiny hands 😃 and the door to door walks in cute or spooky costumes! May be some places did allow most of the traditions, but for us, it was really hard imagining our little one not being able to celebrate Halloween like every year. So, it was time to gear up and enliven the holiday spirit.
With my motto of making the most of what we are blessed with in the present, I created a whole fun Halloween experience for our kid at home. Instead of going out, we went room to room inside our Halloween themed home, wearing our spooky and funky home created costumes and had a fabulous trick or treat experience 😃. Of course, it wasn’t even close to the real Halloween fun, but the best part of all of it were the smiles and laughs we exchanged and the fun we had, together as a family with all the boundaries intact and staying safe.

Diwali, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, might not bring the same thrill this year for most of us in various parts of the globe, but I’m sure, this year has blessed each of us with plenty of quality times with our families to invent and add wonderful new traditions to all these upcoming festivals/holidays and rediscover similar, happier and maybe even more memorable times of togetherness.
Just keep your inner spirit sparkling as ever and keep celebrating!
So, let’s not let anything get in the way of all the forthcoming celebrations this year, and be ready to begin the New Year with even more gratitude, blessings, joy, hope, peace, positivity, forgiveness and kindness 🙏🏻.
I wish you all the very best, to make the very best, of all the moments this year has yet to offer, be it with your family, loved ones and/or friends 😊.
Stay safe and have fun!
