PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Holiday Cheer, Gifting, and Regifting
Second Week of December
Day 1
The cover photo is what I intended when I decorated the area outside of my door. I love to pull up after work and see the lights!
In my family there is a tradition, the Christmas tree has fallen down many times. I am glad I kept my tree outside. The first night we had high winds and it tipped over. I am going to let it lean on the house. It makes me feel the holiday cheer and laugh at the same time.

Day 2
Bluebirds don’t generally make the holiday decor. I love the way they’re included in this holiday towel. More cheer!

Day 3
Amaryllis are my favorite holiday flower. I saved one from last year. I just brought it out of the basement and I also bought a new one. I can’t wait to see them bloom!

Day 4
Last year for Christmas I bought my grandma and myself each a subscription to The Flower Letters. There are monthly mailings — love letters between two characters during WWII.
The intent was for both of us to read the letters as they arrived in the mail and discuss them, like a book club, but through letters. I actually fell behind. I am now catching up so I can regift the whole collection. It is an interesting way to read a story.

Day 5
All the cheer made me hungry! I recently saw a version of this brussel sprout technique. Steam the Brussel spouts, smoosh them, brown, and crisp them. Olive oil, salt, and garlic for me. Yum.

Day 6
I was stopped in traffic when I saw these red berries. I thought about how nature always gives us something to enjoy. If it weren't for these berries, how sad and dead this area would have looked during this time of year. I am thankful for the pop of seasonal cheer.

Day 7
This is my favorite gift I am giving this year. I ordered heart-shaped puzzles for my husband and our two nieces with pictures from our Thanksgiving together. Because they enjoy playing games together, there will be a zoom meeting to see who can put their puzzle together the fastest.
I am glad to have captured some family time in the photos and to create another experience together through the puzzle competition.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone enjoys an abundance of cheer this season!
