Hitting My Writer’s Block with a Left Hook 🥊

Help me get my next drafts into print!

I want to thank Ginger Cook for the prompt and for encouraging me in a place I believe all of us writer’s have been: the dreaded draft folder that continues to build up without hitting the Publish button.

Read her post here:

We have so many ideas, so many great subjects to write about… and yet we just compile a bunch of our stuff in a pile for different reasons: doubt, fear, life gets too busy, etc. It just happens, am I right?

Like Ginger, I want to ask fellow writers for their honest opinion about what they’d like to read next from me. Please drop the number option(s) in the comment section!

Draft #1: On Tracing the Trees in the Air (Fiction)

This would be a follow up story (a part two) to Ladybug’s Redemption, from Ladybug’s point of view after her unorthodox rescue. The prompt credit goes to Gustave Deresse; Writer & AI Artist.

Draft #2: On the Horror I’ve Become (Fiction)

Continuing with the series, this would be the final piece in Ladybug’s story and it would be Roy’s point of view from during and after the rescue. Again, the prompt credit goes to Gustave Deresse; Writer & AI Artist.

Draft #3: Car Ride (Erotica)

This would be a Part 2 for the short piece I did called Break Room. Eliza gets picked up from work by her girlfriend, Beth, and the subject of her naughty break room activities is discussed.

Draft #4: Feeling Poor (personal experience piece)

This will be a piece about visiting the ultra-posh Scottsdale Fashion Square and realizing the only thing I could afford was a Wetzel’s Pretzel and a pair of new Van’s for Roxy. Complete with photos!

Draft #5: Confessions of an Undead Minister

This is another Gustave prompt that seems ripe for a dark comedy regarding religion and who is really behind the scenes of the “church”. I’ve even been playing with the idea of this being a follow-up piece to Ashes, Ashes. I like the idea of having Father Owen being able to give his account of what happened between him and the young “nun”.

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH Ginger for this prompt! I hope this gets my rear in gear to start writing more here on Medium!

Ginger is super cool and gives credit where credit is due: She posted her challenge in response to Denise Kendig’s post:

So… HELP A FELLOW WRITER OUT! Pretty Please? Tell me which story I should tackle, or should I hit DELETE and start from scratch?

Tagging people I’d like to comment AND also show me some of their drafts: Shawn Ingram, 🌬️Mitch, Susan Wheelock, Marilyn Glover, Jillian Spiridon, Matthew Donnellon, Gustave Deresse; Writer & AI Artist, Yours Truly, Sara Larca, Brett Jenae Tomlin, Jan Sebastian, Krystal, Vincent Pisano, Joe Merkle, Hayden Moore, Raine Lore, Carolyn Hastings, David Perlmutter, Patrick Eades, Nikolaos Skordilis

Thank you so very, very much for the gift of your time! I truly appreciate it: cross my heart and hope to die truth! Please remember to take care of yourself today, speak gently to yourself and eat yummy foods.

YOU ARE IMPORTANT AND LOVED!

I love you and there’s nothing you can do about it! Love ~ Dani ❤
