100-WORD MEMOIR
His Bright Eyes Shine Blue
My future, who knew?

Bright eyes shine blue ~ my future, who knew?
He shrieks with surprise A lizard runs past his toes The squirrel Does dance Right before his nose.
Cornflower blue eyes Widen with wonder, delight A rainbow A plane A bird that takes flight.
His chubby fingers Reach to grab my older hand “Look at me!” He shouts On one leg, he stands.
His giggles, his laugh His song, music to my ears He hasn’t A clue How he blessed my years.
On my darkest day He filled my black heart with light Warmth, comfort And hope This duo shines bright.

Sometimes we are blessed with unexpected gifts. My grandson came to me at 7 weeks and he turns 5 years old in a few days. My love, pure and simple.
Happy Birthday, Ian.
